@@Husker_XIII personally i wasn’t a big fan of his new look; the horns and him without a mask looks like a whole different character. he looks alright, i just prefer his mk11 and mk9 looks a bit more. the axe was a pretty neat change though.

I'm digging the anti villain route. He seeks to make outworld stronger and not bend the knee to anyone. When he was young, he was born sickly and weak, until his father encouraged him to work to make his body stronger. As you can see he succeeded. Shao wishes to do the same but with Outworld. Believing it had become soft under Sindel's rule, General Shao vows to make his realm stronger no matter if it damns him.

Love the thumbnail! Even though Shao is strong but not as strong as he used to be, i'm glad we were finally after all 30 years able to dive Shao's legacy and understanding why he was always represented as one of the strongest MK characters if not THE strongest.

You gotta be kidding, MK1 turned Shao into a complete jobber. He loses every fight he starts, incapable of coming up with complex plans and schemes of his own. He no longer is the cunning powerful sorcerer je once was just a brute who cannot see the bigger picture.

@@JohnnyDominion Even if i can't debate on your statements, Problem is the video game logics, And what i mean by that is he get's jobbed because of course YOU play as the character who has to beat the opponent to progress the storyline

@leonduncan3327 Yeah but at price of making the villains look incompetent. How can they make even convincing or credible threats when the villain is getting constantly walked all over. It would be alright if he defeated the heroes in some cutscenes but even that doesn't happen. There should have given the villains a few focus chapters to even things out

@@JohnnyDominion Well maybe when Onaga get's his turn he'll get the spotlight for an actual accomplishment since MK1 seem to be taken to the MK Deadly Alliance and Deception story route in a way, Like maybe Shao will succeed on becoming emperor and then who knows how it's gonna go with another war with how the OG Armageddon storyline went with Shao Kahn being the Leader of the Forces of Darkness.

General Shao is definitely not evil like Shao Kahn, this Shao is a soldier his only loyalty is to Outworld and protecting his home. Shao only wants what’s best for Outworld and will take down any threat to it even the royal family.

General Shao reminds me of Megatron in DOTM, doing what's best for their home (Cybertron/Outworld) On the other hand, Shao Kahn is more similar to Megatron in TF1, being a tyrant with huge power.

False patriotism used a flimsy excuse to gain power. Shao clearly envies Liu Kang and cannot stand the idea of someone more powerful than himself having influence in Outworld. One of his pre-battle quotes with Raiden reveals that Shao is just like he was in the past, he wants to conquer Earthrealm

​Nah he's a bad guy, the evil characters in the Armageddon chapter are all from alternate universes, which is why they have different outfits and are working with Liu Kang. Also, in a lot of the arcade ladder endings (which were confirmed canon in this game), you see that Shao and Raiko have started a full on war with Milenna and her empire, wishing to take control of Outworld. @@SnakeRoadComicsOfficial3677
