I'm a Raiden main and I see these nerfs completely balanced and fair. I didn't pay 80 quids to just finish my opponents in 2 kombos and get easy wins, THAT'S BORING AF Also these nerfs makes you properly play the game instead of just spamming and not hit confirming and hoping for the best, and makes you learn to use your resources properly and adequately

Remember that we are in the early stages of MK. Things will change a lot now. We saw in MKX that not only can Kharacters go from low to top tier in one patch, no they can also get new moves and accidental infinites.

Might be a little weird but I think the invis change for reptile is actually a secret buff… I’ve noticed especially in Honeybee’s vids that the main combo setup to go into invis has reptile going into invis while he’s still comboing you so you have less time to use your invisibility to get openings. Now his invisibility should start about when he’s done comboing, so you’ll max out the invisibility time you get while your character is free to move.

#Underdawg I LOVE when developers add seasonal updates like cosmetics and maps to their games. Just makes everything more enjoyable for the player. Especially when there’s limited seasonal cosmetics to work towards and unlock. I truly hope that there’s more seasonal updates to come, especially Christmas. The BEST example of this is no doubt Team Fortress 2. Their developers created the best way to do those updates. Wow, I really miss those TF2 days. Long nights playing with friends, helping each other with achievements, buying/trading keys, crates, weapons and cosmetics, looking forward to the next update and “Meet the” videos. Talk about AWESOME times back then. 😭 Welp, my reminiscing took me off topic. That’s pretty much what I wanted to add.👌🏼

Yeah I think you shouldn't be able to combo with Jax grab twice in one combo with Raiden, maybe the second one doesn't give you enough juggle time to finish the combo (probably skill issue lol)

I've noticed the ice armor of the sub zero kameo has been nerfed as well. It activates slower and it doesn't last as long.

Im glad Baraka hasn’t been hampered too much. I don’t give a damn for his hate, I love playing him. I knew cyrax’s spin would get a nerf, that’s why I’ve been trying to get better with frost as kameo, because peeps really sleep on the frost/Baraka cold cuts combo, when you’re freezing opponents to open them up for more damage.

Reiko command grab with Darrius got super nerfed. Sad that they nerfed that and not his projectile. Now I can't really get that much out of his mix. Thinking about going for Reiko/Goro or maybe Reiko/Stryker

I have two video suggestions! 1. I'm new to fighting games, so I've been able to figure out a lot of terms through context, but not everything, such as analyzing frame data. Maybe a glossary video? Yes, I can Google, but why not get the views? 2. I'd be interested if there's characters that were destroyed or improved the most through patches for the Netherrealm series. Like if there were characters that were S tier until a patch wrecked them completely.

I've mained Baraka or Reptile throughout the entire series all the way back to MK2. As excited as was for him to have his time in the sun, the nerfs were fair. He's still a high damage character just not ridiculously high damage.

Gonna keep cryin in random comment sections until Li Mei lantern is adjusted. Recovery time and 1 lantern on screen limit should be the only thing restricting a lantern callout, not the amount of time the first lantern is on screen. What i'm referring to, certain lantern situations will prevent Li mei from calling out a 2nd lantern. Even after usual recovery timeframe she will just eat the lantern input for about 1s before she can call out another. I'm not grasping whether that's tied to her lantern nerf due to beta or if its a bug

So Mileena’s ball roll has increased damage now when hit out of synced animation.. what does that even mean? The “out of synced animation” part has me super confused, can someone please explain in lamen’s terms? Like I’m a kombo?

Basically, it means it doesn't scale your combo damage as much as before when you special cancel into it, especially if it's early in the combo.

I've been browsing the Mortal Kombat subreddit recently, and the people there are really angry over how Johnny didn't get nerfed, which I think is understandable since he was top 5 to a lot of people before the patch, and now he's probably the best character in the game. If this anger over how powerful he is spreads to other platforms, I'm expecting him to get nerfed next patch

I'm just happy they fixed Rain's Armageddon chapter. Used to be if you picked Rain for the Armageddon chapter, the person running up the pyramid in the initial cutscene wasn't Rain, it was Scorpion. Sure it's a minor thing, but it only happened to him. They actually fixed it, so now Rain runs up the pyramid as normal.

it's using the mk1 hook mod, he's playing as the npc character Janet Cage, and when you change your character with the mod it still shows the icon and name of the original character you were

My problem though is that most tier list use to be 5 S class and everyone else at A and a few on B tier right Now it’s literally only 3 characters on S tier and B tier grew due to scorpion being nerfed indirectly through gravity changes and cyrax nerf I wish for either of these scenarios instead of the update we got. A. Don’t touch the characters but do some work on kameos to see if that could help improve the combat more Or B. Give characters damage buffs instead of damage nerfs~ I feel that with these damage nerfs on baraka and raiden you made the top 5 best characters( Johnny, raiden/ashura, kenshi, Baraka) a top 3 character list (Johnny, Ashura, Kenshi) Almost every character in this game needs a damage buff after certain moves.

No its not. All his strings are safe and most of them are advancing. I play Kenshi and he outranges even my forward 2. Plus he can ignore projectiles, shadow kick has no visual cue, and he has parry counters. His neutral is the best in the game by far.@@taco1610

A change that I noticed is that they seem to have optimised the game further when it comes to PC. Last week I literally couldn't play because of how laggy horrible the gameplay was and now everything is running pretty smoothly and I believe the minimum PC requirements are actually accurate now.

Yo I didn't even know Shujinko can make two Sento's cause I never use him as a Kameo, sheesh glad they nerfed that. They didn't mention it, but Kenshi damage is also nerfed, I checked in practice, I don't think they should've nerfed that. We work our butts off just to get that damage, and it's not easy to pull it off online. They should've kept it, now less people will use Kenshi

Increased combo damage "scaling." Scaling being the operative word here. In fighting games, when you are performing a combo, moves do gradually less damage the longer the combo continues. This is referred to as combo damage scaling. Most players will just say scaling. When the patch says they increased the combo damage scaling, they are saying that they are increasing the amount of damage that the moves "lose" in the combo. Hope this helps. @@DropoutJerome Nah, I disagree. Their duration is a double edge sword. You can be punished hard by your opponent if they dodge it, especially if they're right in your face when you do it. Characters like Raiden, Scorpion, Smoke, Ashrah, Nitara, etc all have really good gap closers and can close the distance while you're stuck in animation and get a full combo. Motaro hard counters Sareena and can make it so anyone can get in on you while you're stuck in animation . He also deflects projectiles soooo yeah she's fine. Would've seen her in top 8 if she was really as strong as you think she is.

The Cyrax changes were overdone, sure he needed a tone down, but as you said, other Kameos did the same thing and now he just is just too costly and doesn’t make up for it in his other moves when you can get what he offers with other Kameos but don’t have the baggage, he needs to have a lower CD on footer so it’s at least somewhat reasonable. For one who wants variety I notice you only care for that outside of Cyrax
