The biggest issue about the genderswapped Cyrax and Sektor is that the characters don't feel like Cyrax and Sektor at all. The original guys were cold, predator-like cyborg warriors. To me, they felt and looked more like monsters than men, and they juxtaposed well against the actual monsters. The new Cyrax and Sektor have an entirely different vibe. Like they didn't understand the appeal of the character. I do think I'd be fine with the gender swapped characters if they actually had the original appeal that C & X had before.

Just my opinion but I think there should be an Antony Starr costume for homelander with Starr’s face and voice like the Jean Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny cage which has JCVD’s voice and face. Unfortunately they couldn’t do this yet because season 5 of the boys started filming a week ago and is filming until 25th June 2025. The thing that made me mad is that they had SO MANY chances of fixing the game. Since season 1 they could have learned lots of things yet they chose to fix the issues at the end of Kombat pack 1. Overpriced skins,balance issues,glitches and bugs that ruined competitive and a horribly boring grind with Invasions. The khaos reign dlc was overpriced plus instead of making new characters they changed old ones to make them "better"

Quan Chi and Ermac not being on the base roster at launch, AND having to pay extra for Shang Tsung as a pre-order bouns, even though he's the main fucking villain, is what really annoyed me personally. At least with Darkseid and Goro in IJ2 and MKX, they had no part in the story. They felt like a cool bonus character, you know? It would be like if in IJ3 they go, "Hey, you have to pay an extra £10 to play as Batman. Yes we know he's essentially the main character and has two chapters in the story, but fuck you, pay up."

One of the main villains of the game, playable in the DLC, and MK's equivalent to Darkseide, and was relegated to pre-order bonus unless you waited and bought one of the special editions. You'd think they'd learn not to do this again, but they did because Corporate Greed reigns Supreme at WB.

The last mk I got to enjoy playing was MK9 with my guy Stryker. Been wit him since the Og days of ultimate mk3. I'll gladly own up to now being rusty due to life. I was tempted to consider buying mk1 to celebrate thirty years... but seeing where mk is officially breaks my heart a bit. What was said needed to be said, you hit nails to head on the disappointment. As a HUGE MK fan, this game is a HUGE letdown. I was burned by the "day one edition" DLC bundle on MK11. When the Aftermath DLC + characters came out it was overpriced and new players were gifted basically the entire day-one content. Big middle finger to the players who supported the game. Never again. I'll wait for the MK1 Kumplete Flacid edition to be released and get discounted. WB - DO BETTER!

I honestly don't think the game itself like gameplay and stuff is bad, I haven't played it myself but people that i watch playing it are having fun with characters like Maximilian Dood, and i am personally hyped to see Conan, but what is bad about the game is the microtransactions, i don't want to pay cosmetics for a game i have already payed, like that's what sucks with games now, you have to pay AGAIN for stuff that should be unlocked by progression and not with your wallet, all cosmetics should be unlockables if the game isn't free

Shady monetisation is really draining my love for fighting games. WB have made it clear that cash rules everything around them, but Capcom and Bandai Namco aren't much better. Street Fighters 'fight coins' aren't sold in bundles that match the cost of a costume. Tekken doesn't know what 'Ultimate Edition' should mean when selling content. Making new content seems to have slowed down for the big 3 too. Prob to keep costs low. Rising development costs + the niche appeal of fighting games + corporate greed has created a perfect storm of fuckery.

The MK series will be okay, it always bounces back but I’m proud of the gamer community for finally learning to vote with their dollars. The video game industry has been disrespecting us and seeing how much we would take for a while now, always seeing how much greed they can get away with. We are pushing back and I love it .

I wouldn’t be very happy about MK1 being over already, though. With WB focusing on MK for now, it means next NRS project will be another rushed MK to advertise upcoming movie at the end of next year (still hoping that rumour about that their project is sequel to Shaolin Monks true, though)
