For female characters other than Mileena and Kitana i think Sindel is guaranteed because she was mentioned as Empress in Rain's backstory by accident and it was quickly changed. Jade is also mentioned in one of the prefight convos between Liu Kang and Kitana although the context seems to be that shes not an active part of the game. Sonya is in a weird grey area. She, Jax, and Kano were revealed as Kameos in the first trailer. Kameos can also be on the main roster, i just find it weird youd reveal them as Kameos first. Although it would just feel weird to not have Sonya.

They've taken away the green glowy stuff from Johnny so I wonder what the explanation for his power set will be and for why Liu Kang sought him out specifically other than he knew him in the past.

You make a few good points there! Perhaps Liu Kang didn't seek out Johnny at all since it seems Kenshi was only there to get Sento. We do see Liu Kang and Johnny interact though, so I suppose we shall see!

Stryker did have a Fatality in MK9 where he sticks a grenade into the opponent's abdomen, but yeah, there hasn't been one stuck in the mouth yet. Also, the fact y'all struggled to learn Frost's name does show how little of a legacy she left. XD ALSO, y'all have some cute pups! Reminds me of when my dogs were puppies. :')

Actually Robot Smoke from the old Mortal Kombat games had a grenade in mouth fatality but instead of graphic detail, it just made the opponent explode

Smoke is my favorite mk character, and my main in MK9 (2011)❤❤❤. And I really excited that he will return as playable character. So by now I know that Bi-Han is the grandmaster of the lin kuei and is turning more... disagreeable. Kuai Liang is Scorpion and Bi-Han's younger relative. He'll potentially have to face Sub-Zero in the end. Smoke is potentially Hanzo and Scorpion does seem to share an actual brother like bond with him

I haven't seen anyone explain it yet, but this game will have what's called: "Kameos" so in addition to the character you're playing, you have a secondary character that's linked to one dedicated button on your controls and they can assist you if you push the button and based on the context of what you're doing they have multiple moves, so it's not a tag team where you switch your characters. So this game will basically have two kinds of rosters: 1. The Actual playable character Roster 2. The Kameo Roster some characters will only be playable (mileena, Kitana), others will only be a kameo (example: Frost, Sonya, Jax, Goro) but others will be both (you can literally play scorpion, with scorpion as your kameo, same with subzero). there has been word though that there will be Kameos that will only be available in the story mode, so you can't use them in online matchups and stuff. (Rumor is that Jade is a story-only Kameo) and this isn't really a spoiler since it was part of the reveals, but Sub-zero here is Bi-han (the original one that scorpion kills and turns into Noob Saibot), and Scorpion is definitely not Hanzo Hasashi as sub-zero and Scorpion are explicitly brothers here, not just friends and allies.
