Li Mei made her debut in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, in the original timeline she was an Outworld fighter who entered the Deadly Alliance's tournament with the promise of freeing her village from the clutches of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, in the first new timeline she was one of the refugees of Outworld who fleed the war between Kotal Kahn and Mileena.
