This was a fantastic story mode, leaps and bounds above X, and I’m glad we finally got a real happy ending. If I’ve got one nitpick, it’s that we couldn’t see how the rest of the krew fared after Liu and Kitana restarted the universe. If this was the end of the MK franchise I would’ve loved to see everyone get their own happy ending, even if it is just a set of images in the credits. The full Cage and Briggs family having a meal together, Hanzo and his wife watching their son training in the Fire Gardens, Kung Lao ascending to the top of the Shaolin, Kotal and Jade marrying, Kabal unburnt, maybe starting a family with Sareena like in his ending, Baraka and Sheeva living side by side in peace and Sub Zero protecting the Earthrealm alongside the Lin Kuei, with Bi-Han, Smoke and Cyrax. It would’ve been an amazing final visual for the series to see that Liu and Kitana had given all their friends closure after the years of hell they went through.
