No they won't be, ed never said no NPCs he just said there would not be as many and just to back it up game informer did an Interview with a dev a couple of days ago and he says that there are NPCs and characters are not unlocked via the krypt. Also ed says he doesn't repeat DLC

From what I saw in the gameplay sektor and cyrax have the exact same move set they had in mkx except for that front flip move, this most likely means that we won't see them as playable characters since they just ported the move set and animations from mkx instead of adding new ones like with the other characters.

A funny thing about the differences between Scorpion and Sub Zero is how they deal with the dozen robots. If Sub Zero is left to deal with Cyrax, Scorpion does a ton of cool-ass ninja moves to kill them all. But then you chose Scorpion, and all Sub Zero has to do is freeze them in one blow.

what pissed me off is Boon never made Sektor or Cyrax as playable characters in this game. There would have been better than friggen inviting Hollywood's oldest chars I swear. not to diss Rambo, Terminator, Joker, Spawn, and Robocop but honestly? Love this game, and I was previously a SF fan! One thing to mention, in cut scene, Scorpion wasn't affected by the fire, yet at 2:48 in game, he screams when attached with fire by Sektor... Can't get it right all the time...
