You know, since everyone in the comment sections for this and part 2 described this as better than the original story, I figured, why not see all the areas where this is objectively superior to the original? And that's what I'll do in the comment section under each part of this AI project, a comment explaining which parts of the original story, shether intentionally or unintentionally, were improved in this AI project. I won't include any parts where the video series takes direct or indirect jabs at MK11's logic. And yes, I do understand that this video series and tge original story were made with different goals in mind and under different circumstances. Let's begin: -There is no nonsensical line about Raiden "embracing the truth Shinnok was cast out for speaking" that does not get further developed in the story. -Seeing Raiden's torture actually breaking Shinnok does a better job at building up Dark Raiden as an intimidating figure and it goes beyond the clique of every single fictional character ever resisting torture no problemo. -Raiden does not say his "fates worse than death" line here and that is for the better. It is kinda hilarious imagining Raiden repeating this phrase both to Shinnok and to the Revenants and hearing a cool phrase like that being used again and again can reduce the impact of the line. -Taking out Shinnok's "you can't kill an Elder God" line helps in a far later scene and it makes the mechanics of the killability of Elder Gods less confusing. -Making Kronika furious and not all-knowing makes some of her questionable decision-making and her eventual defeat more believable, plus, it's refreshing when not every single bad guy is constantly meant to be 1,000 steps ahead of the good guys and has some actual exploitable flaws. -I've seen enough from The4thSnake to know how continuity has been butchered in MK, so I appreciate Sonya not giving a specific numbers for those 20-something years that could easily contradict something preestablished. -Holy crap! Is that Jacquie Briggs actually having...personality? -The AI version of the story actually remembers that Earth has nukes and explains why the characters don't use them. -There is no dialog where it is indocated that the OG characters have officially given up on the Revenants that only exists so that the new main character will give up on the Revenants as well. -The AI version of the story explains why Johnny doesn't come. -No dialog between Sonya and Cassie where Kabal is treated as a Black Dragon goon and his MK9 story gets ignored because we reaaaaally needed to build up to his retcon, you guys. -You know, it is a bit refreshing to see characters making mistakes every now and then that actually fit the situations and not make them either flawless mary sues who only fail due to outside interference or incompetent morons. -Less jobbing for the Revenants. -With the way Sonya dies here, it makes way more sense why Cassie's ACTIVATED-WHEN-LOVED-ONES-IN-DANGER powers don't activate when Cassie's mother is about to die amd could be saved by those powers. -Johnny isn't just randomly waiting for them out in the desert. I get that this is supposed to be right outside the military facility, but the way the scene is shot makes it look like Johnny was just waiting for them in a random spot in the desert. Well, that was interesting. Most things that were fixed here were either small character, continuity and world-building issues or small generic cliques or they were smaller versions of problems that became much worse as the story went along. It will be interesting to see how the next part fares with this analysis. The part that adapts in AI form chapter 2 of MK11. The chapter with the tornado that merged past and present. Oh, we'll talk about a lot in the next chapter.
