Honestly, my problem with the Revenants isn’t just that they’re bad, but that they’re the default. Liu Kang and Jade have such good human designs but they’re overshadowed by the fugly ass Revenant costumes.

D'Vora's "nude" skins are her best ones. Why wouldn't her appearance be repulsive? She's a damn insect! The only reason a creature like that would even consider covering itself would be to hide its appearance & blend in with a crowd. As far a color schemes go, iinstead of Netherealm trying to make it seem as if the game has a lot more skins than it actually does, meaning most skins merely have 10 different color palettes & they deceptively count each one as a different skin, they should've included a color wheel for customizing both skins & gear. Maybe it could've been an unlockable option for each character in the character towers? Choosing skin & hair type would have also been cool. I think they should've included a lot more options to choose from as far as kustomizing goes.

Kitana's outfits are literally all the same with small tweaks here and there. Her main mkx outfit gave the story of a warrior princess and her dark empress outfit was amazing while mk11 gave commoner ninja. Jade is the same. Skarlet doesn't have outfits that really fall in the realm of her being a blood absorber. Cassie's outfits are horrid. Dvorahs outfit default outfit is a copy of her mkx alternate and Sonya default same. Jacqui leather jacket outfit I like. Honestly MKX didnt a much better job is giving completely different looks for each outfits for all characters better than mk11.

here we go again, every character in the base roster has 2 skins, each one has 3 variations and 10 colors, so the sheer amount of skins in the game (60 per character) is just an illusion, it took me some time to figure it out, but in this case is the reason as to why some of the skins suck, they took a model made small changes to it, cassie in point, her default costume has shoulder pads, the 2nd one doesn't have them and the 3rd one is just a jacket on top, basically is 97% the same skin. a lot of characters got screwed because NRS went lazy on the skins (and gear). also, klassic frost is somehow represented on her 2nd skin, it's too similar to the old one, I think it was inspired by it and it combines the old with the new.

Layering is similar to Injustice 2 but in skin form. I main Johnny cage and he basically has two themes old and young. Old having vest, jacket and tanktop. Young having klassic, jacket and tanktop. And I Honestly like the options. Yes they aren't 6 very different skins but i do like that each theme has alternatives. Similar case with almost every character. (Cassie having present and future) except they arent that great. I wouldnt really call it lazy. I would have preferred if they went with more injustice 2 system for mix and match instead of skin sets but i feel they were afraid people will react badly to it. Also some characters gear choices are very questionable

I love D'Vorrah's skins. She's one of the few characters that have good skins across the board. My preference is the exoskeleton, but "naked" D'Vorrah is also great. (Her gear sucks, though). All of Jacqui's skins are the worst. The bulky legs with the tank top look awkward. The Wakandan dresses are the least functional outfits in the game for fighting. I can't comprehend why they would make any of those skins. It's like they wanted her to look like a mess.

I think its funny also too how you said you felt the Jacqui skin where they didn't change the bottom just lazy. I agree but I had that same impression about the entire inventory of skins in the entire game most are just palette swaps etc I must admit I was very disappointed in the entire Gear and skin system in this game a pretty shallow effort overall. Looke at Tekken if you want to see real customization of your character.
