Mortal Kombat 11 - Where Are The 3D Characters? (Locations/References/Cameos)

Hey guys!
Welcome to another Mortal Kombat 11 video, now In today topic and discussion I wanted to have a stroll down memory lane and talk about the 3D Era.
More specifically the characters themselves and where exactly are they post MK9 reboot!
With the universe being reset sometime ago as well and some of the easter eggs and cameos we've gotten from in game and comics, I wanted to look at every character that appeared post MK4 so be prepared for me to talk about a lot of characters!
But please do keep In mind not every single character from the 3D era does return In the rebooted time, so In this video I will be talking about when and where they have exactly appeared as well as any reference or cameos they have made In the rebooted universe!

It just feels like the same characters from the OG games and their son's or daughter. And new characters that are going so far out there. Like they have SO many characters from before! I'm a fan of Movado, Shujinko, Nitara, Onaga, Ashrah. You can tell that they have potential. And if you pick and choose the right ones. They will be perfect.

Well, id have to assume fan preference is what killed off, or kept most of those characters from being playable. Most of the characters from Deadly Alliance/ Deception werent received that well. That is why the story tends to focus on the fan favorites, the more classic characters. Adding characters to an already well established franchise is tough. If everyone loves the DA/D characters theyd be in the new games.

I feel its beyond time many of these kombatants return. I feel many deserve a second chance. Kai, Sareena, Mavado, Reiko, Havik Hotaru, Li Mei, Drahmin, Nitara, Taven, etc. I love the cast from the original trilogy to no end, but I think several can sit a game out in place of someone else. Kano, Sonya, Jax, Raiden. . . .

Manuel Duarte completely disagree. IMO she’s one of the most original. With her it would be light vs shadows against Noob Saibot. That would be awesome to see. There’s also tremendous potential for different hat designs for her bc her hat is part of her trademark look.

12:48 Mokap actually gets a very brief text cameo in Cassie Cage’s intro for MK11, where she is drinking from a cup labelled ‘Mokap Mokha’ 13:22 Nitara also gets a mention in a conversation between Erron Black and Skarlet (MK11), where Erron mentions having dated/slept with Nitara prior to starting a brief relationship with Skarlet.

Funny how there are so many characters left behind and yet they keep bringing characters like Joker, Jason and so on who have not even a small connection to the franchise, just for marketing (money). But yeah, seeing what they did in the storyline it's kinda terrifying imagine what they could do this time! And I would love to play as Taven again, he's my fav.

Despite the intro dialogue about Fujin’s death, he is immortal much like Raiden as in Mythologies after he was defeated by Bi-Han. Fujin formed a massive tornado & that tore himself apart in attempt to kill Bi-Han & he had later came back to life though. But NRS never acknowledges these things. Both Dairou & Darrius are both reference does Easter eggs in MK11 as consumables like Ashrah

Okay, here's my dream MK12 roster/predictions: They reboot the timeline (again) with Aftermath so you've the Great Kung Lao. - Havik because Shang Tsung name-drops him when throws Geras into the Chaosrealm. - Geras because Ed Boon likes him (maybe he is even stranger since being in the Chaosrealm with Havik). - Hotaru because the Orderealm has been mostly absent for the past 3 games. - Drahmin inspired by Riccardo Pasquali because it is awesome and NEEDS to happen. - and to completely subvert expectation: Moloch and Meat. Returning favorites possibly altered to the fit new timeline: - Kenshi: a new take on the blind sword-person. - Shujinko (hear me out): the timeline is going way back in time to the GKL so it is absolutely possible that we get a different take on Onaga / Deception story. - Kintaro: his recent introduction in Shang Tsung's fatal could be hinting at his return as a singular caracter. - Ermac or the general-idea of Ermac and stitch-together souls. P.S. If Cetrion comes back, Netherrealm has to bring back Nitara or Li Mei.

He's a top ranking member of the Red Dragon, who infiltrated the Special Forces, and used them to take out members of the Black Dragon, and when that was all done, he betrayed the Special Forces, destroying their base and equipment. Since NRS is so damn insistent in focusing on the Special Forces, they may as well bring Hsu Hao back, since he was actually dangerous to them.

Douglas Taggart exactly! At least the 3D characters gained a following and gotten a second chance by time the series was rebooted. Yet instead of using them they pump out new characters and guest characters... nrs has made 13 new characters only 4 have been received positively, the rest are either hated, ignored or mixed opinions. Shame how half the dlc slots and irrelevant guest characters for the sake of money is annoying, why should have the dlc be nobodies?

Seeing how Reiko destroyed Jax in the comics, and how he had the upper hand against Kotal in a 1v1 fight, Reiko probably gave Kenshi a run for his money as well.

If MK12 goes into the Deception/Armageddon timeline (which would make sense considering the names referenced in MK11 and the fact Rain, Mileena, Onaga, Daegon are missing etc...) Then we NEED to see Ashrah and Havik return. I feel like they have some of the most potential along with Nitara. Fujin is likely in MK11. Li mei also has potential if she takes the character arc she took in Deception.

Hotaru never appearing in the Outworld Civil War storyline confused me considering canonically he was in charge of a city in Outworld Then again... they might have ignored that because the person who led you to go to said city (when you played as Shujinko) was Mileena, who should not have existed at that point in time...

@@symanthacantre5444 In Mortal Kombat Deception's Konquest mode we basically give Hotaru rule of the walled city of Lei Chen in Outworld in Shujinko's youth. Shujinko later went to Lei Chen to meet with Hotaru, which made Hotaru send Shujinko for *years* due to a curfew violation. That whole time in prison Shujinko sat waiting for his trial. But yeah, point is that Hotaru would still have the rule of the city of Lei Chen during the Outworld civil war from MKX and would have had a stake in the fight for who would rule Outworld

Who cares? The real question is where's Mileena? One of the fan favorites actually. Don't say me she died in MKX, so did Baraka and he's in the game. Also, this time travel concept and even the fact it's a video game and Mortal Kombat in that, dying doesn't really mean much.

Man the 3D era characters are very underrated. I don't know why Netherealm hates most of these characters so much, killing them off or having them disappear from the face of the earth. Hope some of my favorites like Mavado and Li Mei can be playable again

I wouldn't call Mokap a joke character. More like a thank you tribute to Carlos Pesina, who has done a lot of motion capture for the MK games as well as playing Raiden in the "2d" games.

Lol, Havik apparently isn't as easily killed as canonically in the Aftermath DLC, he's alive and well in Chaos Realm. I do know this video was made prior to the release of the Aftermath DLC and at this point, Shang Tsung has yet to mention that he threw Geras into the Chaos Realm for Havik to play with.

Quanchi, Kenshi, Tanya, Bo Rai Cho, and Shinnok are the only 3d era characters that weren't shitted on. Frost technically can count too. But Fujin, Notara, Sareena, Li Mei, Ashrah, Havik, Hotaru, Reiko, and Onaga got COMPLETELY shitted on. All of those characters have massive potential.

I only like a couple of characters from the 3D era, Havik is my favorite, Tanya, Quan Chi, Kenshi, Fujin, Kai, Sareena, Frost, Drahmin, Kira, Kobra, Reiko and Li Mei. Some characters however need a really big change for me, Kira, Li Mei, Kobra and Drahmin for example. Hotaru, Ashrah and Nitara could also be nice, not a fan of the other ones...
