It's stage fatalities. The uppercut isn't the fatality, it's the acid pool, the roof spikes or the ground spikes.

Genesis aka Mega Drive version of Mortal Kombat 2 has an advantage about Liu Kang when you play as Liu Kang you can do bicycle kick by pressing light kick button more than one time and rapidly when you get hit by your opponent i tried this years ago you can do too i wish this was possible in Arcade Version of Mortal Kombat 2
