This video took me waaaaaaaay to long to make. I thought it'd be around 10 minutes yet it's 20!!!! And I was even planning on making it longer!! But I decided to post the other part next week~ Aftermath was a lot of fun to sh!t on. And I actually still have more to say about it in my Kronika SUCKS video. Thank you all so much for watching and supporting this series. If it weren't for you guys I would only have released 3 videos~ I'll be doing other things for now. But I'll hopefully get the Kronika episode done soon XD

Why do people keep saying that? Shang Tsung was never exactly trusted by anyone. It was literally the mistrust that provided most of the conflict, and in the end he subverted the main characters simply because they weren't aware that Sindel was also evil.

Talk about wasted opportunity. They wrote story into a corner and invented some pulled out of ass Titans, Shinnok never-heard-before sister, retconned their own ideas... instead of continuing story of Dark Raiden going mad.

How would that work in your opinion? I believe the plot with Evil Raiden could follow 3 steps: - I suppose Earthrealm would defeat Liu Kang, Kitana and the other revenants because of Raiden's new tactics. Unless there were many unnecessary sacrifices, no one would complain much about his authoritarian methods because they're bad guys (and also zombies). - then he would have to unnecessarily go after Kotal Kahn, since his Realm was the other main threat and Kotal was about to "betray" them in MKX, and this would probably make Cassie and the others start to strongly disagree with his methods. - a conflict starts between Raiden (by himself) and earthlings, and this is where things get bad. How would Raiden, by himself, because he would not be able to attract any allies, be able to beat Fujin, the rest of the earthlings and also outworld warriors? 1) He would need to get such bs powers that it wouldn't feel pleasant to see him go down. 2) Or he would need to do some sorcery stuff to make revenants fight for him or something like that, because it's certain Sub-Zero, Scorpion and the others wouldn't want to invade Kotal's realm like that. 3) Or he would need to make bs promises to Tarkatans (who are weak without Baraka) or Shokan (but Sheeva didn't want conflicts, she joined Shang Tsung for Sindel, and Kitana for peace) in order to initiate a new civil war in the Outworld. Maybe I'm missing something but I can't see Raiden forming any alliance, and by himself I don't think he can keep up with two Realms combined... Everybody just wanted some peace after Shinnok was killed and if it were not for Kronika, Kotal would easily handle the Outworld. Seeing Evil Raiden v Liu Kang flashbacks in multiple different timelines and this cycle being broken felt way more epic than a main villain Raiden + we will get a much needed reboot for this timeline. As badass as Evil Raiden is, I couldn't imagine a 12 chapter long story happening because imo Raiden as a villain can only work if his allies blindly trust him, which is no longer the case since MK9, or if we start to see the story from the bad guys' perspective, and pulling that off would be really hard (the bad guys who are still alive don't have much charisma and it's just too ambitious to make us go against this man we know he's just being bad because of an amulet). A Thanos 2.0 is a much safer pick and still engaging.

Kronika is just really underrated overall. Her intention of bringing back her twisted definition of balance is far more interesting than any major villain so far. Shang Tsung (until Aftermath)? Shao Kahn's minion. Shao Kahn? Me want big empire. Quan Chi? Shinnok's minions. Shinnok? Me want Earth bad. If we go back, we have the likes of Onaga, Blaze and other dumb villains. Basically, MK really never had solid villains.

Frankly Shang Tsung was such a fucking joy to watch, especially with bringing back Tagawa, with all the shit eating faces he makes the whole time knowing nobody trusts him and that they can't do anything about it until he does betray them. That alone made Aftermath maybe my favourite piece of MK content in like a decade. But yeah, the thing at the end where we find out Liu Kang was actually allowing it all to happen showed his character experiencing some actual fucking growth and frankly making one of the smartest plays he'd ever made. I loved that even Shang Tsung was impressed by it, cause even he didn't expect this from vanilla ass Liu Kang.

@@SonicHaXD I agree 100% with that statement. I saw what they wanted to do with the MK9 voice for Shang Tsung, but the whole “raspy old man” approach got (pardon the pun) old fast. Plus, now that we have Raiden, Sonya Blade, and Johnny Cage’s movie actors (F for Chain Smoker Raiden); all I can say is...I’m sure Rhonda is sweet lady in real life, she probably takes the check and tips well, but she wasn’t the best fit for Sonya. I would’ve loved seeing Movie Sonya from the start, though MK9 & MKX Sonya weren’t too shabby as far as alternatives go. But yeah, Shang Tsung is the best character in this game, no questions asked.

In Sheeva's perspective, Sindel was a benevolent ruler right up until Shao Kahn invaded Edenia, so it wouldn't make sense if Sindel suddenly did a 180 and killed the husband she (seemingly) loved. Also, one intro reveals that Sheeva had always expected that Sindel didn't sacrifice herself (which she couldn't do if she was brainwashed), but was instead assassinated (if she always expected this, why didn't Sheeva tell this to Kitana or anyone else?).

I had it with Mortal Kombat's shitty writing done by NRS that Aftermath is utter bullshit. Sindel being this sociopathic evil hag from the start is a lame subversion and it's very cringey cause now she has about as much depth as Shao Khan. As bad as the MK11 story was, at least it ended with a clean slate opening up the possibility of better lore going forward. Now based on this rant and the answers, it seems things are still as bad. With how they messed up both the story and the gameplay of MK11, NRS should be shut down for good. I prefered when MK franchise ended with Armageddon like Mokap's ending where all combatants were annihilated or Taven's ending where their powers are nullified or Kitana's ending where she banishes the forces of evil to the Netherrealm (though I would prefer Scorpion and Dairou) are spared or Ashrah purifies Onāgá.

I really do hate that I actually enjoyed Shao Kahn and Sindel's chapter. Was never a fan of Sindel but still shared sympathy for the fans that hated her reason and agree the change is stupid. But on the other hand seeing Shao Kahn kicking everyone's ass like he's suppose to do to anyone not a God or main central character like Lui Kang who is both now is very satisfying. Shang Tsung chapter too. Anyway totally agree with Fujin being in on the plan the whole time. It's the only thing that makes that scene with Lui Kang make sense. Also Lui Kang sacrificing his friends wasn't right or wrong. He's doing exactly what God's do. Play with mortals' lives to get what he wants. Gods are meant to be disconnected with mortals because they're immortal. They can't sympathize with personal loss since they can't really lose anything in their "infinite" power. This is why Fujin constantly hangs out with the mortals so he doesn't lose sight of that. Lui Kang hasn't been a God for long but it's already affected him and for once it's not trash writing. It makes sense and isn't complete bullshit. If this was an accident or not we'll see real soon whether Lui Kang has a direct hand in the events to come or sits back watches quietly and only intervenes when it best serves him.

Interesting interpretation of Fire God Liu Kang's character. It's not like you and I wouldn't be in over our heads if given the same kind of power. As for Shao Kahn and Sindel, some people have been asking for chapters in which we play as the bad guys, but they too hate that one of the character's backstory had to be completely butchered for that. Betraying allies for her own gain and the bigger D is Tanya's thing, not Sindel's. The worst thing is, after all the backlash, the writer smugly still thinks we like evil Sindel better! I hope that guy never gets a video game story gig again.

MK Annihilation Shinnok was far more threatening than NRS Shinnok. The former was so powerful Shao Kahn was scared shitless of him and did everything he asked. The latter was such a wimp that Cassie, the person who beat him, got her clock cleaned by half the cast AND by Shao Kahn in MK11 Aftermath.

I made prequel trilogy which is meant to take place from Lucifer's rule in the Netherrealm to Shinnok's ascension as ruler. It is meant to take place before and between Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat 10. They might as well have used a pre-existing female villain, or introduced a new one, if they didn't like Sindel's character in the previous games. For instance, if I was a developer at Capcom, and I didn't like Rose's character, I wouldn't retcon her into being an agent of Shadaloo all along (which, much like in Sindel's case, would contradict what happens in her arcade endings).

Off topic question: Does anyone think that Onaga is so powerful that even Kronika fears him? After all, Shao Kahn needed to poison him in order to take the throne to Outworld, Raiden, Quan Chi, and Shang Tsung couldn't even scratch him in the Deception opening, and Liu Kang needed Raiden's powers to even stand a chance against Kronika with her crown. Is Onaga secretly a titan? Or is there something I'm missing? But then again, the power level in Mortal Kombat is all sorts of fucked up. Onaga would probably lose to fucking Kotal Kahn.

Why is it that Onaga was stated to be far more powerful than Shao Kahn, but somehow Kahn still ends up winning the battle of Armageddon, especially since Onaga took Kahn with him during the Armageddon intro? With Onaga being far more powerful and all, there's no way Kahn could had escaped him. Also, it doesn't help the fact that in Armageddon, Taven was the one who won the battle, but in MK9, it was Shao Kahn, completely retconning Armageddon's ending.
