I'm reviving the MK Deadly Alliance Playthrough series. Since this marks the game's 20th anniversary, it's about time I update my playthrough series. This time I will be playing as every single character on the Max difficulty setting, AND playing with 3 rounds to win as opposed to 2 to make things interesting and different from most other people's playthroughs of this game.
This is Part 13 out of 24, where I will be using Hsu Hao. Although a character with a reputation for being shitty, he is one of the top picks in this game, mainly for his Wrestling and weapon stances, which are both really good. His special moves aren't that great though.
Enjoy!
Best combos:
(Start in Shuai Chiao) 1, 1, 2, 2
(Start in Shuai Chiao) 1, 1, 2, CS, B2, SP
(Start in Shuai Chiao) 1, 1, 2, CS, B2, CS, B2
(Start in Wrestling) B2, B2, SP
(Start in Wrestling) B2, B2, CS, B2
(Start in Sun-Moon) 2, wait, 2, wait, B1, B2
(Start in Sun-Moon) 2, wait, 2, wait, 4, F3
My tips:
Hsu Hao's stomp move (BF3) is the worst special move in the entire game. It rarely connects and has very poor recovery if whiffed or blocked. Forget about it.
Wrestling's 1 and B1 throw moves do a lot of damage, these are great to follow up with when dodging the opponents attacks, after blocking, or using Reversal.
If Reversal is successful, don't follow up with any combos as they can be blocked easily. Follow up with the 1 or B1 throws in Wrestling, or the standard throw (FSP in any style).
The Sun-Moon blades are exactly the same as Kano's Butterfly Knives, attacks and all.
After a combo you should follow up with Khan Klap (BD1), as there is a good chance you'll hit the opponent with it. Make sure not to do it too early otherwise it will miss.
