Because we were kids and kids are easily impressionable. Plus, Mortal Kombat was a new experience, adding the fact that it was an incredibly violent game unlike anything before. Now we're adults and MK has been part of pop culture for decades.

Is it just me, or does anyone else prefer the brutalities from MK11>MK1? With MK11 there's a feel to it that like the input and brutality animation are all in one, whereas MK1 it feels like there's the input, then a noticeable pause, then the brutality animation to follow. Might be nitpicking, but idk, just feels more satisfying hitting an MK11 brutality.
