Yeah, as a concept it’s not completely bad but a lot of franchises that use it have it there as a crutch so they can do anything without major consequences within the story and for the characters which we see with MK.

I think, given various timelines and the multiverse being introduced as canon, we can take MKvDC as canon to its own timeline. Which is why it's later referenced by characters in the second timeline and they're aware of things they can't possibly know yet (or at all). Although it's pretty hard to make sense of it, that is the consequence of poorly thought out time travel stories.

To me, the last Mortal Kombat game was MK9. Since MKX story is so bad and so unoriginal. MKX, MK11 and MK1 is full of pop culture reference. They clearly triee the catch the trends instead of making a new story like they should, like they did before. Look at all these multiverse and timeline bullcrap. They watched so many Marvel movies for sure to make MK11 for sure.
