Beautiful, athletic, and trained as highly skilled assassins, Kitana and Mileena have grown up thinking that they are sisters. Shao Kahn, Emperor of the Outworld, has tricked Shang Tsung into becoming his servant for Mortal Kombat by making him clone Mileena as a Tarkatan clone of Kitana, out of Shao Kahn's fear that Kitana wouldn't love him enough if she ever found out the truth about her Mother and Father.

This NEEDS to be a prequel/spin off film Also I LOATHE the new MK timeline. Mileena should be created when Kitana was a child. They should grow up together with Jade becoming their bodyguard. THIS is definitely the best backstory and gives so much weight to all the characters.

I love this version of Mortal Kombat. Sure the Tarkatans look like Orcs but they are still recognizable. Sindel looks so much more beautiful here than in the games. And her suicide to allow her soul to merge with Kitana's made much more sense to how she would later discover the truth.

See, here's my problem with Baraka's portrayal in all the games. His, as well as all tarkatans' power levels keeps switching between the lowest cannon fodder, and a deadly threat to most MK characters. I mean, in Shaolin Monks, Baraka showed a shit ton of vitality, and was put up a decent fight against Liu Kang and Kung Lao at the same time. In Deadly Alliance, the tarkatan hordes killed most of Earthrelm's defenders.
