I think that is actually going to be early in the movie. I can't imagine them finishing the movie in some mma dojo. I think Shang Tsung will send Sub Zero to assassinate Cole Young and Scorpion will follow Sub Zero there. They will fight, Scorpion will prevent Sub Zero from Killing Cole and then Raiden and Shang Tsung will show up and Raiden will tell Shang Tsung to not touch his fighters until the tournament. So something somewhat similar to what happens in the first MK movie.

That said, this movie looks like they got a LOT from the video games as well. more than I expected they would. Some of the moves "sub zero freezing the blood and stabbing scorpion" is straight out of the game, including the throw through the ice wall afterwards. Kanos heart fatality, a classic. Jax's head smash fatality etc. etc.

Also, Cole Young is TREMOR! he’s turning into rocks during the Goro shot! the movie will end with Kano recruiting Cole “Tremor” Young for the Black Dragon, leading to them being the main antagonists in the MK Special Forces spinoff! these were the super secret studio plans that my friend’s dad (who works for WB) leaked to me, and he could definitely get in trouble for that.

Kuai Liang at this time is Tundra, and is in the Lin Kuei with Bi Han. Cole Young is Satoshi. I think Hanzo is going to sacrifice himself so his son can escape in this universe, Satoshi moves to the US and changes his name to Cole Young to hide from the Lin Kuei, grows up there as an MMA fighter and forgets his past, and that’s where our story begins. All clues point to him being Satoshi.

I HOPE he's good. Kano was the first character I mastered when MK1 hit the scene in the early 90's. Then I was upset he wasn't playable in MK2. My vote is that Cole young is Takeda..The 3 reasons why are..1) His relationship to Hanso Hasashi AKA Scorpion 2) Armor is similar to Takeda's in the game and 3) in the fatality sequence at the end of the trailer, you can see a metal whip like feature coming out behind his hand.
