I just watched the very first level and I must say, your execution was flawless. It felt choreographed almost like a movie. Even the moment you got hit, it was the perfect setup for the first ice blast, it gave it more purpose and felt genuine. It's also interesting how this game seemingly had the same wall balance as MK4 (when you finish a combo in a corner, you'll kind of freeze in place for a second, giving the opponent a chance to recover)

That being said, I am grateful you created this playthrough and Terminator 2 Judgement Day for the NES as these were games I never got to play much of and was very interested in. Some of the obstacles in this game made me anxious just viewing. I couldn't imagine how terrifying it would be while actually playing. The amount of timing and leaps of faith involved are just unreal in this game! Forgive me for not checking myself, but any chance you have done a playthrough of Shadowman? I've heard the game has a good story, but I only ever played a portion for a day and couldn't get into it. That, and I lost my copy of the game.

_Mortal Kombat_ has always been such a fun guilty pleasure to watch and play. The fact that many of the characters are palette swaps of each other and yet they were given these fun, elaborate backstories is endearing. "At least it's not _Batman Forever_ " is the kind of descriptive commentary I subbed for.

What I found out about this game was that this game was somewhat a prequel and that it took place before the first Mortal Kombat and revolving around the original Sub Zero (Bi-Han) and not young Sub Zero (Kuai Liang).

Honestly they missed a huge opportunity by not having Dan "Toasty" Forden appear and say TOASTY! after every uppercut that kills an aponent. Speaking of Toasty that's the perfect thing to say as the fatality after you finish this fatally broken piece of mortal kombcrap by toasting this sucker in a toaster on maximum. TOASTY INDEED!

An interesting experiment to expand the franchise on paper, not so much with the execution. Nowadays a good spin-off based on the successful relaunch of the past decade could be made but it wouldn't have the same cheesy appeal. Still, in some in-game moments there's a good atmosphere thanks to background and music.

There's actually a secret easy way to avoid getting killed by Fujin's tornado at the end of his fight by crouching at the edge. You'll grab onto it and avoid having to perform the balancing act with your run. I only just found out about this recently, lol. Personally, I always really liked this game until you reach the Netherrealm. It gets real tiresome around the point you're fighting raptors and transformers.

My cynical joking aside though, from what I understand this was intended to be the first in a series (of which I believe there was one called Mortal Kombat Special Forces or something like that) that was to delve into the deeper lore of the universe presented. It's an excellent idea, but the implementation was less than perfect.

This game should have introduced some more creative features that could have allowed Sub-Zero to use his ice powers to do some unique things. His ice-power attacks could have also been more capable of destroying traps. He could have been more capable of using his ice powers to build bridges in order to avoid falling. He could have been more capable of using his ice powers to create stairs. He could have also been more capable of generating frozen ice from his feet in order to increase his standing and jump to some impossibly high points. He could have been more capable of using his ice powers to help himself climb the walls.

They put this man through 5 stages of Hell. Fight off monks, Scorpion, giant monsters, God of Wind (Fugin), three whores,Quanchi, Shinnok. After all that, now you're sending him to Earth Realm to fight in a tournament. No wonder Subzero's Attitude is Ice Cold.
