I will give my explanation 1.Shang tsung and steal souls he could steal shinnoks soul if he wanted to 2. Shang tsung can shape shift so he can just easily turn into shinnok and beat him with his own power 3. He can possess his opponents so he can make shinnok do whatever he wants in that moment

Now I will give my reason why shinnok will loose If you’ve played Mk XL you will notice shinnok uses bones as his defense and force power Shang tsung can easily just turn into someone else more powerful then shinnok and literally rip him in half. BUT! Shinnok would actually stand a bit of a chance like I said if you’ve played Mk XL shinnok has an amulet that turns him into a fire demon with that he would most likely destroy Shang tsung but without it Shang tsung would win just my opinion
