They are both really really good at fighting, both have mysterious powers and fighting souls. But something that's different from one other is that while Ryu fights fair(usually doesn't fatally hurt people) while Scorpion goes all out on everyone in his path(more or less), usually leading to killing his opponent if victory is achieved.

Ryu vs Liu Kang is better match up. Scorpion would fit better with Akuma. Also I think Mortal Kombat would win. Not by much.

The reasons why Hanzo Takeda Hasashi (Scorpion) would win: 1. He has tougher endurance due to being able to survive attacks that *BREAKS* his skull (and any of his bones in general) and still fight like nothing has happened 2. He is always armed due to him always having 2 dart spears (rope spears) that come out of his hands, sometimes katanas, kodachis etc. 3. He is way stronger than Ryu due to Ryu having trouble to destroy cars (due to him having to punch and kick them multiple times to break) and Scorpion being able to pull you across the arena in a single pull (+his dart spear(s) retracting while doing it), being able to cut even very heavily armored enemies in a single slice easily in some of his fatalities and even break very thick and hard bones easily 4. He is an immortal fire spectre with ninja training 5. If he would teleport Ryu to the Netherrealm ( for the non-MK fans who don't know what the Netherrealm is, it is literarely Hell) he would only get stronger and stronger while Ryu would suffer from the heat that the lava would produce (or be disgusted by the sea of blood) 6. He can transform into a giant scorpion 7. If he would take of his mask he would kill Ryu in seconds with his fire breath (thus doing the famous TOASTY! Fatality) Tell me if I missed something or spelled something incorrecly ( I am Ugric so Germanic languages like German and English aint so easy for me)

Scorpion is a spectre reborn in the netherrealm...he cannot be killed and will outlive Ryu, let alone defeat him. He can control hellfire and burn Ryu in a second lol. Street Fighter has no chance against MK for the simple fact that MK is deadly, whereas SF simply defeats or K.O the opponents. Fatality.

That enhanced power still pales in comparison to Ryu's ability. Immortality was the only thing Scorpion had going for him in this match-up. Hanzo Hasashi might have a chance against Ryu, but not Evil Ryu or Focused-State Ryu. The only reason Scorpion won the Death Battle is because he was an immortal. Socrpion wouldn't die in a fight with Ryu, but he WOULD loose.

Ryu is always sooooo understimated. He has the ability to parry and red parry any attack, making him inmune to pressure and predictable moves. He can guard crush in denjin mode with his hadoukens, and stuns you. He has his shinku sho ryu ken, his tatsu, his shin hadouken as finishing moves. He has faced Gill, Oni, and bison, along with many teleporters and fighters of the world with different art styles. In other words, he is a experienced fighter that only needs to predict you to parry or guard crush you, and stun you quickly, then finish you with a powerfull shin sho ryu ken. And they always make them lose in cross overs. Is more about populairty.

Comparing move-sets, Scorpion would win because he is far more versatile. He can teleport, summon fire, leg takedown, air throw, and his spear. Ryu has a fireball, rising uppercut, and the hurricane kick. That's it.

Who I think would win is beside the fact here, but you cannot base your decision on game mechanics. The fight would be solely on what each character is capable of skill wise. Just because sf doesnt have a fatality option doesnt mean that ryu would lose.

Ryu has his Demon form, he always unleashes it when has a near-death experience.And also, he could only spam Hadoukens or throw his Metsu hadouken or shinku hadouken, scorpion cant even touch him

I think the real winner is Scorpion. He can die but he can respawn in hell and come back to fight Ryu again. And just toast him when’s he’s finished/dizzy.

A hadouken isn't technically a fireball it's the energy of Ryu manifesting itself into a physical form of a projectile-like punch. I know what Scorpion is and he can be killed he just reappears in the netherrealm again. Bullets don't hurt him yet he gets hurt by knives, spears, and fists. lol Evil Ryu is practically invincible and raging demon literally kills the opponent 1000 times in an instant. His shoryuken can cut you in half. He survived a hole being punched through his chest by Akuma.

Hanzo Hasashi aka Scorpion wins... Close match up but Scorpion has more experience and sorcery at his disposal... Unless Ryu finds a way to make his body fire proof, this is Scorpion's fight to lose... The one advantage Ryu does have... Scorpion's driven by rage and anger. This can lead to him making a mistake that a great fighter like Ryu could capitalize on... Either way it goes, great matchup, great vid.
