The mortal remains of 31 Indians, including 23 from Kerala, who died in the Kuwait fire tragedy, were received at Kochi international airport. The IAF aircraft carried the mortal remains of 45 Indians in total. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and several Central and State ministers, paid tributes to the deceased.
Kirti Vardhan Singh, the MoS for External Affairs, said the remaining injured were recovering well in hospital and that the Kuwait authorities have assured that these incidents will never happen again. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said it was sad that so many Indians have been forced to migrate elsewhere seeking jobs.
