Listen Karl I understand your point of view here and appreciate it as well as what you and other new creators represent but I think you are underestimating the amount of damage Jon del Arroz will do with his fuckery and misappropriation of the CG name. His morals are evident with his "Diversity and Comics" stunt. I see Ethan really likes your point of view as it mirrors his own and it is influencing him to not take JDA's incursions too seriously. Who knows what effect that will have considering he is in essence steering the ship but I suspect it might come back to bite you future guys in the ass so you should look into it a little further. Just my 2 cents.

The other option is to do what Zack did. Change the name, leave the grimy origin behind and press forth with a new movement that sprung from it. While I consider myself comicsgate (because I am) I think of all of you individually... I belong to the Malin Militia first and foremost. All caps comics has my loyalty and custom. If it means that much and the founding fathers of CG wish to own it I would kick in a few bucks for copyright. Assuming the tool hasn't done it already. If he has... MEH... he can only take the title but not the content. Jda is a failure either way. He can't hide from that behind more talented people.

Yup, between the behavior of war campaign and JDA and a lot of the racist politics he associates with, CG is increasingly becoming a shit show. The CG die hards may not want to accept it, but Zack has been distancing himself from the label for a while now especially because of the court case and you may not want to admit it, but Mike is right to do the same. CG acted as a rallying cry and towards that ends it worked, but now it is increasingly becoming a liability, the movement has outgrown it. Although it may not seem like it, that is actually a good the focus instead needs to be on taking things to that next level and that may require you to leave behind the past.

You nailed it Jon. The problem with Del Arroz isn’t his politics (at least not 100% of them), it’s that he’s a slimy, deceptive, thieving, little weasel. He uses the tactics of the progressive left like a good little Alinsky-ite, even if he purports to have the opposite politics. But the politics isn’t the issue - the _character_ is. And in that, JDA is sorely deficient. He has a stink of corruption and desperation.

I can only afford to be throwing money at a few creators and that will be who puts out the best content without being a scumbag. Personally I consider Malin, EVS and Richard C. Meyer to be the leadership/creators of what was called Comicsgate and anyone else who claims to be the leader other than Cecil is getting effectively blacklisted (from my money at least) and everyone who claims to be on their side is getting the same treatment.

There is nothing like CG for musicians, especially jazz musicians, especially white jazz musicians. People don't understand. Jazz is like a continuation of classical music, it's music in it's purest form. I'm talking Charlie Parker, Art Tatum. You'd think America's greatest contribution to art - along with comics - would be treasured and its practitioners recognized. But real jazz died many years before CG; long before SJWs were a thing. Karl O'Rowe is right, he realizes how lucky he is to even have a movement to be part of, and be able to get together with like-minded artists. That's so precious, I hope you all realize how lucky you are.

JDA is a piece of shit and most people who look at his actions would probably see that. With that being said, there is a legitimate disagreement in CG, many of us join CG because we believe that our society is in the middle of a left wing culture war with SJWs trying to force their beliefs upon us at every turn. Many of us grew up on comics that were under the old comic book code that was around till the 90's, so a lot of comic book content was pretty traditional in nature, a lot of people seem to have forgotten that. So there is a big part of CG that is NOT looking for apolitical comics, instead they want comics that put story first but are also unapologetically reflective of traditional and conservative values. Whereas the Ethan crowd wants to keep everything apolitical. Personally I feel there is space for both in CG just as long as one side isn't trying to force their will on the other. But when deciding which campaigns to support, I will support the ones that are reflective of my values first and foremost and if there is any spare change left over I might consider picking up an apolitical comic or two as well. For me the most important thing is to support quality creators that are reflecting my values and beliefs in a positive way. Just creating apolitical content doesn't move the needle enough from what we already have in the mainstream. Paying a premium, waiting 6 to 12 months to get a product, that is just a watered down version of the kind of SJW content that is already in the mainstream isn't worth while. If your going to deal with those kind of headaches, you want to know that you are unapologetically backing content that is going to take those left wing ideas on head on, instead of trying to tow some apolitical line.
