I have no clue how it was called in the first game, but this played during Kelley's backstory. This theme is the reason for why I've grown to like that one-dimensional excuse of a villain.

A shame honestly, a good game behind a paywall is still a "almost perfect" for me No matter how good it was its still an incomolete experience, i remember when games went out 90 to 99% complete since you had to buy them in disk form so, no patches or "updates" you get what you payed for Could be better

At the beginning: “WOW! It’s William! This is so cool! Time to destroy all our enemies! At the end of the mission: “I killed Otakemaru! Now to fight Mari-wait what? He literally grabbed her and she gave up? What about the 2000 sword slashes I had to give her on the first DLC of Nioh 1 and she just escaped, IS THIS HOW SHE GETS DEFEATED?!?!?!
@TheOnlyLonelyBoy3 жыл бұрын
No point to fighting it. Resurrecting Hideyoshi to prolong a war for more spirit stones for Spain's use was her last card up her sleeve. She was backed into a corner with at least three people in the room more than capable of handling her, one of which being a Shiftling. It's probably safe to assume that Maria has no experience in fighting actual yokai, or can't handle them well in a fight much like how Honda Tadakatsu has readily admitted is beyond him. If she struggled, she would have died, and unlike William our Hide has absolutely no qualms with taking human life, especially since Maria's actions could have resulted in undoing so much work Hide struggled hard to overcome. Besides. Her being captured and sent back to Spain fits with historical reference. After the unification of Japan under the Tokugawa shogunate, the shogunate completely shut off access to Japan from the outside world save for a very select group of people, and only allowed that trade/influence to come in through one port. Unlike Kelley, who was a homonculus created by John Dee to act in the shadows, it's likely safe to assume that Maria has some degree of influence back home. William receiving orders through Hanzo (who likely got his orders from the shogunate) to capture and returning her to Spain saves Japan plenty of additional conflict with a country that, likely, could have trounced them after an immensely long period of conflict within Japan.
@josetomascamposrobledano46183 жыл бұрын
Ein when I first made this comment I was trying to make a bit of a joke, at least she didn’t use her plot-portal to leave the scene like she did in the 3 DLC’s of Nioh 1. But yeah, after the conflict of Osaka Castle there wasn’t any major fight that they could have used to continue the story so they had to take the fantasy approach of Maria trying to do a Kelley move. The story of Nioh finished nicely, Maria was basically a teaser for a new game after DLC 1

This melody (and "Afterglow") is for the Nioh games what the "Geralt of Rivia" theme is for The Witcher games. Precisely when hearing this time in my first Nioh play it evoked in my imagination a Japanese version (or interpretation) of Geralt's story. Many parallelisms between a monster-hunter Witcher and a yokai-hunter Samurai :-)
