I gotta say, the twist of this boss being your twin was masterfully done. I love mirror match boss fights in games and this is one was amazing, I just wish It had more impact story-wise, like it just happens and the nobody really acknowledges it afterwards. honestly I think it was a mistake to kill Saito off so quickly and so early in the story, they really should have been a recurring character that you face multiple times Not to mention they have the best intro cutscene of any boss in the game by far

I couldn't agree more! In my opinion Yoshitatsu was made a big deal at the beginning of the game and should have lived up to his name to show how big of a threat he was. I know Yoshitatsu was killed early due to be in alignment with the historical events that happened which lead to IRL Yoshitatsu's death but I really wish he could have been a reoccuring boss (like he doesn't die the first time you fight him or he escaped and is out for vengenance or he could have been the one to ambush you in the first place after learning you worked for Dosan) like there was so much more that could have been done but wasn't as the storyline had so much potential! I think it's sad we never hear Yoshitatsu's side of the story like all the other characters , so even though we know he was possessed , we don't know what drew him to the spirit stones or if he was truly an evil alignment. Even his death cutscene isn't very centered on him (and honestly is painful for me to watch) since the extra man with the staff takes away from Yoshitatsu's death with his presence.

I really thought that Yoshitatsu would be the Genichiro of this game, but it just kind of ditches her, which is a tragedy

Thats part of tragic. One twin went with Dosan, as he possesed more dark side. Other went with Suzuka as he possesed light side (otakemaru had no idea you and your twin are his sisters children until you fight him in person and he notices her eye glow on you) And just by that, one twin felk into obscurity and forgetness as he was destined to. Its very yin yang and oposes western thinking

@@aveimperia4026 it is sad in terms of the game, but the problem was that Genichiro is a fictional character, while Yoshitatsu is an historic figure that died by that time

Like a co-op game? For example Hidechiyo is better at utilizing all sorts of weapon while Yoshitatsu masters the Yokai skill Damn.

This is the problem with having a silent character. As much as I like Hide, he/she shouldn't have had any familial relations to anyone in the game.

sbn4 I somewhat disagree as having no relations to anybody seems like a bad narrative choice. This isn’t an RPG abd the devs wanted to put their own story, and to be honest it’s an OK story too.

@@vladislavgilyov6626 it was used for Otani Yoshitsugu and Ogress (who is Nobuyasu’s mom). It’s fitting because they’re tragic figures who were dealt a horrible hand but it doesn’t fit Saito Yoshitsugu

Historically Saito Yoshitatsu was freakishly tall, especially for his era, he was exactly 2 meters tall if I remember correctly.
