ekko is quite good for the shred yeah, and because in ambusher comp all you really need is 5 ambusher. generally you do so when the trait you would add is less good than a unit, almost always with a 2 star 4 cost. Corki is another decent example, while not as good as ekko, sometimes you may play 2 corki 2s over like another sentinel or academy depending on the opponent's board
