I thoroughly enjoy these episodes, and dearly wish that there will be many many many more!! It's so rare that one can find a program that is both educational, hilariously funny, stunning to look at, deeply philosophical, and chocked full of the sweetness of true friendship and comradery. PLEASE keep this series going. It's one of a kind....

These series keep getting better and as a man of similar age I am jealous that Bob and Paul have such a great time together. What I haven't seen mentioned, is the filming and production values which are also simply beautiful and should be award-winning.

Irish fisherman here, I love meeting guys from across the pond. I have some real hidden spot's, lake's rivers and rocky outcrops on the wild Atlantic way. Many a tourist angler I've pointed out good spots to. They're passing through, catch and release and respect the spot. Not throwing litter and empty mackerel trace plastic bags fluttering around. Enjoyed watching guys catching their first bass, ray and tope from the shore. The dutch are great fun too.

@@tomz5704 actually I met 3 young dutch people out drinking after a days fishing pike in Co. Cavan. 15 years ago albeit. They were great lads. But as you say, there's a certain type of person attracted to the hobbie.

Yes, I believe so, he certainly doesn’t look well, not too sure if it was his heart though? I think there is always a friendly banter between the two about Bob’s unhealthy lifestyle which he tries to make for by serving ‘heart healthy’ food, which it rarely is !! Great episode, I can truly say “I’ve been there, done that” for 25 years , even know the pub well - it’s Burke’s Bar in Clonbur 👍

Trivia: Craic is "1970s: Irish, from English crack (sense 4 of the noun). The English word apparently entered Irish English from Scots in the mid 20th century and subsequently assumed an Irish Gaelic form."

Shows how a bit of editing can chnage the narrative... I live about 5 minutes from the lake and where they fished. The Hotel they stayed in is in Clonbur...then they drive back to lough BallyQuirke...just outside of Galway City...and then they go to meet Fergal Sharkey in the pub...across the road from the Hotel :) I doubt that was how it was recorded. a few hours driving in between :)
