AND, the game is doing even better than ever, even 2 years after launch. Goes to show what can happen when you treat the players, the ones who actually pay for the product, with respect instead of catering to greedy share holders and higher ups who just want money. I can only imagine next year the player base will be going strong once patch 8 is out and when they have more mods. Meanwhile, all these games with additional paid DLC that should have been in the base game and MXT usually die after a few months past release haha.

All classes in the update can be played now - they are all established and well made mods by modders - have had the shadow sorcerer, example, for over a year.

One of my favorite irl D&D characters I've made so far is a multiclass rogue Arcane Trickster / Wizard Bladesinger for a short campaign a friend of mine has written. I'm really excited that I'll be able to create her in BG3 and do a playthrough with her 🤩

I've seen people who are disappointed with Hexblade, and I dunno, I'm glad for it. And Larian will be expanding the modding tools more so chances are the other subclasses can be added later. I do wish Monk of the Astral Self was added instead of the Drunken Master, hopefully someone will add the JoJo subclass later on.

I am excited to see first of all Path Of The Giants, Drunken Master and Swashbuckler. In particular I am interested to see which new animations, VFX and class mechanics they add, as martial classes lack in variety of them compared with casters.

I think someone pointed out that these have been popular mods for the game but it's nice to be able to achievement hunt with fun classes. Thinking about duergar giant barbarian for huge size. Assuming the racial spell stacks.

I think(or hope), that they will not just copy and paste mods into the game, but will give them enough of care and homebrew as was in other cases. More likely popularity of mods was trigger for larian to implement these particular subclasses into the game.

the tabletop version of Mantle og Majesty only lets you cast command on one target (as a bonus action without spending a spellslot). I dont know, but Im imagining that the mantle of majesty Larian style, will be sort of like a mass command- being able to command several targets- so long as they are charmed.

It was a really nice surprise. Just when everyone thought they were done with adding any new content to the game! I'm curious if there is any new reactivity for some of these subclasses. At least Oath of the Crown for paladins has some new rules.

You missed bladesinger's ability to cast a cantrip in place of an attack which will cause all sorts of havok with arcane acuity and similar kind of abilities let alone gear such as the ring of bonus action cast a spell if you attacked.

I'm not sure, in my honour mode run the fire sorcerer and sword bard were so powerful I felt I could've finished the game with just them two, if they make stuff more powerful than this then they need a harder difficulty option 😂

Especially when you get those two staffs duel wield and the neck to reset a spell slot so you can use three level 6 spells in one turn with haste

Ah, more Bard power to play with. Not a subclass I play normally, and it will have to try had to outdo a College of Swords with Twin Hand Crossbows(Which, interestingly, WAS my weapons of choice in the actual table top in high school). Seriously, hitting the same target, four times, with one attack action, then buffing the damage of each hit, by just being awesome, is an amazing ability.

I know about the Artificer being a mod and Larian supports mods to the point of making it possible for essentially everybody to use mods, pc console or otherwise. I have never used mods in my life. I appreciate the work and everything. But it would be nice if it was an official thing by Larian. Instead of 12 classes, make it 13 with the Artificer or maybe unlock it once you beaten the game once and then go for another playthrough with that class or something. And then Patch 8 would make sense because we get a 4th sub for Artificer. Maybe next Patch we could get NG+ and Artificer as official (wish fulfillment obviously). Or if it's not, then more Sub additions. I saw in the comments someone wished for Soulknife instead of Swashbuckler soooooo....

People don’t realize how huge this is. Most other companies would absolutely charge 15-20, maybe even 30 bucks for a sub class pack like this. Keep in mind how many sub classes are included in this, with custom animations, etc. The fact that Larian easily could have charged for this but didn’t is amazing, and goes to show how much passion and confidence they have in this product, and how much they value their customers. Other AAA studios have made as much or more than Larian did with BG3, and they will still charge you for things like a single quest pack., etc.

In some cases with small studios it makes sense, like Solasta charging for classes(including several subclasses with each class) since their funding was basically done by consumer interest. But with larger studios charging for singular assets... Larian stands out all the more from the practices of AAA studios.

It is insane that this content is free. It is also very sad as it shows the state of the industry. And if anyone says that these subclasses are based on mods, there are companies like Paradox that repack mods and sell them as DLCs, so it's still kudos to Larian for their stance.

I hate that the new paladin subclass is just another lawful type one. I'm struggling to figure the differences between oath of devotion and oath of the crown. I know it's probably harder to come up with non-good aligned paladin oaths, but surely having two subclasses dedicated to loyalty to law and order is overkill
