The old Mortlach 16 Flora and Fauna was a benchmark whisky. I loved the Chieftan's Mortlach 22. The rebranded (twice) Mortlach line is a pale product unworthy of the name. As with so many other Diageo products, you have to go indy to find quality. After multiple samples, I must conclude that I dislike wine casks for scotch.

Well, I’d say the best wine finished whisky I’ve had is Bruichladdich Black Art 4.1.

I would not have expected much from the Inchgower. I'll have to check it out. I would not be able to resist blended some of it into the Mortlach (or vice versa). Would it work?

Jason, you need to release three versions of your videos: (1) English, (2) German and (3) American. In the American version, you need to practice grade inflation. You called the Inchgower the best SV bottling you have tried in a while, one of your favorites, et cetera, and then graded it a C+. On an American grading metric, that would be an A. Most of the bottles you review would be As, and then you would need to find other ways to distinguish between them.
