I made this kit when I was about twelve back in the 70s. I was not especially good at making kits, certainly not by today's standards, but I managed to make this so the wheels and tracks turned and the tank ran with a little pushing. I was quite proud of that.

It brings back childhood memories. I've had all of the models... It's nice to see that they still bring joy and are made into beautiful models by expert hands. Awesome build an paintjob.

Nice finish on the venerable old Airfix kit 👍 I've recently finished a Revell IS-2 at 1:72 Those rubber one-piece tracks though... I always use an electric soldering iron, and VERY carefully melt the rubber pins through the holes (a bit like rounding off a rivet) - also melt the inner edges together to get a nice straight join. Standard soldering bit is a little clumsy for 1:72/76 kits so at those scales I replace it with a short piece of paperclip for accuracy.

Good shout.. I have seen that in action with the soldering iron but I just did it as I’ve done over the years with runner glue and staples

Ages ago I had this model kit too. Not the best kit I ever bought or that was given to me, but also not the worst. I only did some minimal painting, like the machinegun on top and maybe some other parts in gun metal etc.

Nice video. I can remember seeing the IS3 (the other name it is refered to) at Bovington driving around in 2018. It was the first time one had been on UK soil

How good is that glue/adhesive? I’ve never used it, always end up using a tube and splogging it everywhere. I will have to invest in some. Thanks, oh and great build!
