Recently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, while answering a question about the possible supply of American long-range missiles to Ukraine, called on the United States "not to joke about Russia's red lines."

They really aren't. He's clearly too delusional to see that it's over. His ego is way too big and he's way too weak to make his own decisions. NATO has been patting his back the whole way, pulling the strings and screwing up peace talks. He believes his own hype. Ukraine's eastern front is well on its way to collapsing and Ukraine just ordered 31 towns and settlements in the east to be evacuated because of it. Kursk has been a miserable failure as well. Zelensky thought Russia would leave the eastern front and run to its aid but Russia didn't fall for it. As long as Ukraine's being busy running around in Kursk, Putin is laughing all the way to the bank because it means Zelensky can't reinforce in the east and Russia takes more and more ground every day. Zelensky thinks Kursk is gonna help him in future negotiations but it won't. Russia's had enough and said "no more". The gloves are off and there will most likely be no more negotiations. Kursk is a lost cause. Eventually Ukraine will have to surrender, in which case Kursk goes back to Russia, or they get completely taken over, in which case Russia gets Kursk back anyway.

He's destroying his country. He's fallen for his own hype and he let NATO boss him around. They kept telling him what a good boy he is and how brilliantly it's going despite Russia having captured many times more ground than Ukraine has. NATO is almost out of options, politicians are getting sick and tired of the support to Ukraine, new elections cycles are coming around and governments will eventually change. Add to that, NATO doesn't have the military complex infrastructure to keep producing what Ukraine needs, and the Kursk invasion is a complete failure that resulted in nothing but Russia gaining ground in Ukraine because keeping Ukraine busy in the north so they won't reinforce the east is in the best interest of Russia. Zelensky is overrated and overhyped.
