I replaced the P-C70 coil with two small Bourns axial inductors/chokes in the proximity circuit that you posted. They cost about 25 cents each and come in a lot of values. They worked well for the proximity circuit. Maybe if you don’t want to wind a coil or want to save some space, they might work well in this circuit also?

Nice video, congratulations. Your mosfet is getting into saturation on the negative cycle. What about putting the negative of the audio to the ground?

I built this circuit about five years rather quickly and it worked ok, but the audio transmission was not crisp. I will try to rebuild it again this fall. I have the P-C70-OSC, but will wind a home-made coil instead. There is something nostalgic about the look and feel of large air coils. I now have an oscilloscope and will to attempt to tweak the sine wave for better symmetry. Has any one fixed it yet!!!! Please share if you have.

Excellent news that P-C70 coil is difficult to get, and even if you can get one, the price is crazy. I'm building an AM rig myself with a similar home mad coil. I'm using wavin platic plumbing tube for winding my coil. Regards Al.

You can replace IRF540 with 2N7000. Depends on availability and cheaper price. I suggest to add 100nF+100μF coupling capacitors on supply line to GND as close to coil as possible.

Yes I have used an NPN transistor. You may need to change the bias.

Are the 80 turn and 20 turn coils soldered together? How to make the antenna? My goal is to use this transmitter to listen to music on old radios. Thank you so much!

Frequencies from 540 kHz to 1700 kHz, and it will cover your house and property.
