Mosko Moto Reckless 80 install | Husqvarna 701 | Masons ADV |

Well, it decided to snow again so what better time to mount the Mosko Moto Reckless 80 to Benhams Husqvarna 701 than now?
The install is the same for almost any motorcycle with a rear rack and this one has the Perun moto rack already installed.
Now he's ready for some serious adventure :)

Looking at these for my KLR. I took my nomad tank bag to Ecuador, strapped onto 701 Husky for 3k miles of offroad fun. Mosko stuff can’t be beat! Looking fwd to their m/c riding apparel debut. Thanks for the great KLR channel!!

I had mine mounted like this on my 690 and it fouls the brake caliper after a day of the weight bouncing on it. Once it starts curling in it curls and fouls worse. I ended up having to pull it forward further and strapping the lower mounting straps high up on the trellis frame which twists the holster...not ideal. Great system but in practice doesn't work on the 690 and looks like the same fit on the 701. Keep an eye on the brake caliper hitting it .

@@masonsadv yeah, a lot of heat from the exhaust is a big problem in 690/701, any such luggage assembly will be problematic so it’s useless. Mosko/Enduristan/Kriega will not tell you that ;-)

Mosko Moto luggage is nice, the reckless 80 is good stuff but the price is so high it's kinda like a slap in the face, but I guess I'll get this set up as soon as my T7 comes in. ....just my opinion.

Hmm, I'm not sure. The bags don't need a rack system but it would protect your plastics. I use the snake skin and other guys use milar to protect them.

In the discription mosko moto write it’s not possible to use it with Husky 701 and KTM 690 with heat shield if u used the original exhaust…. U need a second market exhaust Is this correct ? Best wishes from Austria….

Wow really great video of the installation. I wanted to see if there was Infact a hole on the base of the bag ( where your gas tank is) do you think it would be possible to install a rotopax on a rear rack then slip the reckless over and have everything close up with the 22L stinger bag aswell?

Thanks! Yes it has a filler hole under the tail bag and I'm sure the rig would likely sit over a rotopax. I don't see why that wouldn't work. Cheers!

It works well. The beaver tail on top cinches down fairly tight and the sides are sort of rigid so it stays put :)

He loved it but has switched his R80 over to his new KTM 790. It did work well though on our trips and really had no issues once he got his heat shield sorted out. Cheers!

Hey Mario. Yes he did have a side cover melt issue until he installed the Mosko heatshield and wedged it up between the side cover and the exhaust. Then it was fine.

No but it would help for sure. Also there is a heat issue on the pipe side and you need to use the heat shield, jam it up under the plastic, or that side will melt. Experience talking here ;) Cheers Sean!

He did melt the side plastic once but he was running without the shield in place and quickly fixed the issue. It seems to be good now.

I think you could but you may not be able to stuff it right full. Shootertech uses a large top bag too and seems to make it fit 👍

After using this stuff for a couple years now I'm getting used to how it works so I can see how it would sound like that. We have paid full price for everything except that particular R80. Benham bought it at the bike Show in Toronto after it was used as a demo and everything Andrew brought up to the show was for sale at 10% off. The big savings was the shipping. This certainly isn't a paid review, just my thoughts on some well designed, tough gear. Cheers!

Nice. I just did a test run today with the reckless. So much thought was put into the design of the Mosko gear hence the fuel opening. So far I am a fan of the Mosko gear but all I have done is mount it and a test ride. Torture test to come.

Good video but I have the same set up (2017 701 with Perun rack and Reckless 80) and found that the luggage kept sliding round with one side ending up touching the brake caliper. I needed to rig an extra strap under the seat and down to the sides of the Reckless 80 pannier sleeve to stop this happening. It wasn't caused by uneven weight distribution because I swapped the dry bags from one side to the other and it always slid off towards the brake caliper. It was sufficiently annoying to cause me to think of adding a luggage rack and using different luggage. Anyone else experienced this and solved the problem?

Hey Gary, Benham has a rear rack on his and that may make a difference. The direction of the lower straps is important to holding everything centered. His doesn't seem to move much but he did have it touch off on the pipe and melt a small section of one leg. Good luck. Cheers!
