I have the same problem. After comparing the new 1/4 quick disconnect with the one I have I found out that the bearings inside the mosmatic has smaller diameter and it’s barely holding the nozzle. What I did is I put an o-ring on the nozzle shaft where the bearings holding the nozzle and problem solved not moving anymore.

I dont have any problems with mosmatic fittings but then again have european version bsp gun and fittings. Love em.

Chris, I'm at a crossroads and glad I saw your video. I have the same mosmatic gun and original MTM fittings from 5 years ago. They work well. However, I wanted to see if you feel the same way about the mosmatic fittings. Would you do it again? I may have to upgrade the mosmatic wand to have the same 1/4" mosmatic QD coupler in addition to the fitting on the gun. Seems like overkill as I have a setup that works.

@@xrayos12 I probably would have left it alone if I had to do it again and put my money elsewhere. It's a lot of money for some fittings and they're steps better, not leaps. They didn't live up to my expectations.

@@ChrisL-rh7io Thanks! Just ordered some made in china fittings online, m22 hose coupler and 1/4 QD couplers. they just arrived and look just like the mosmatic fittings and it's smoother than the mtm fittings. it could be that they're just new, but still for an item that can fail, I'd rather spend $20 for 3 sets of fittings. thanks for the video. saved me over $150 (new wand and new fittings)

I updated to Mosmatic for all my quick connect. Not sure if it’s worth it? Was tired how hard it was to work with the old ones!! The Suttner quick connect nuzzles work perfect. It looks exactly the same, for $2,50 a piece!!

I’m having leak issues but it sounded like you’re having issues from the couple and quick disconnect. My leaking issue is coming from the actual 3/8 screw on that attaches to the mm gun itself
@ChrisL-rh7io3 жыл бұрын
Are you using crescent wrenched to tighten? Do you use plumbers tape? You need a very tight seal on these fittings so you'll need combination or open ended wrenches, and plumbers tape. They gotta be torqued very tight to prevent leaks.

I'd opt for MTM or General Pump fittings instead - I'm not sure it makes sense to put $50 fitting accessories on a $90 gun. I've also learned Mosmatic are just copies of Sutners with a mark up.

@@ChrisL-rh7io Right on, thanks for the reply! I finally decided after all these years of youtube review lurking I'm finally upgrading into that prosumer level and just having a tough time with the balancing act of price, value, need and want. Can't decide on high end accessories and an AR 675 Pro, or Mid Tier Accessories and a Kranzle. Always the wild card option of High end Acc. and an Active VE52 and open up the budget for other products and supplies I need. Any thoughts lol?
@ChrisL-rh7io2 жыл бұрын
@@RawLobst3r I was looking into the VE52 over a year ago before it ended up on OG considering the specs it was showing. There were only 2 youtubes in the community using it at the time but it also was only $140 before. The week before Matt put it on his channel, it went up to $180 then $210 shortly after. I think it's close to $250 now. Things have definitely gotten more expensive due to covid but I think that's a move to take advantage of consumers by putting the pressure washer on the cusp of something more higher end price wise as it has solid specs + TSS. I used to follow a lot of OG videos but although I get why they do stuff like that, it just doesn't sit well with me. That being said, I think a pressure washer with 2.0+ gpm, and ~1,000 psi is solid for car detailing and it prob doesn't matter what price point you get it at. I guess what I recommend is get what you're excited about and would be happy with but also be cautious because there is some bs in the industry like the price gouging on the VE52 and 1000s of LSPs.
@RawLobst3r2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisL-rh7io Appreciate it. The intrinsic value that stems from the engineering and industrial/functional appeal of the high end gear does pull at me, but I also understand the reality of it. If fronting a source of a particular flow with the same gun/wand/hoses etc, the user experience will likely be very similar regardless of the source/PW providing that flow, save for sound/reliability. Consuming and meshing all the available content/reviews, It might make sense to grab a VE52 now with all of the add-ons I want, use the rest of the budget for other products and gear, and if the 52 takes a dump at some point I will have gotten further down the road and have more peripherals. Depending on when/if that breakdown happens, assess things and move to an expensive unit if needed. Or I say F it, throw that thought track out the windows, and buy a Kranzle. Then upgrade my accessories along the way. Who, knows, product stock may make the decision for me.

I’m more confused now than before watching this lol You summed it up at the end to make more sense. As skeptical as I am I wouldn’t be surprised if it was partially by design to have these complications. If you’re willing to spend x amount on gun you’ll keep spending on so called upgrades to get it right.

I definitely felt like I had drank the kool-aid a bit when these quick disconnects arrived. There's a market and interest out there for these premium products, but the best way I could describe how I felt is something like I bought $100 socks for my $100 shoes and the $10 socks I had before were perfecly fine. Yea, they were nicer, yes, but I likely won't buy more.

@@ChrisL-rh7ioquestion. How do we understand the markings on the tip of the spray nozzle so we know which size we have? My mosmatic pressure washer nozzle (one with the black rubber cover like in your video) says 25045 on it. My other nozzle says 40045 on it. Does the first 2 numbers represent the fan degree and the last 2 represent the orifice? If so then I understand it. Lastly. If the last 2 represent the orifice size. Is it the bigger the size the more flow and less pressure and the smaller size orifice we go drops flow and increases pressure? Thanks
@ChrisL-rh7io7 ай бұрын
@@angelad75 Yup, numbers represent fan degree then orifice. The larger the orifice, the higher the flow and the lower the pressure. That balance is going to vary on a case by case basis. 4.5 is very high for an electric pressure washer - do you have a gas one?
