She died 50 years ago today. So young she was. Just 24. Sweet girl with a voice like an angel. You will never be forgotten Tammi! You and Marvin were pure magic. Nobody comes close to you today.

Yesterday was Tammi's 78th Birthday. She has been gone 53 years. Marvin was 84 on the 2nd day of this month and has been gone 39 years now. They are both so much real now then they were before the died. It is the music. It never never dies or gets old and the both of them were true singers. God Bless You Both!

Marvin Gaye was played in our home EVERYDAY! He was a gift! Absolutely the best. My son grew up listening to Motown. . . Detroit was home. We moved to Indiana . . . Took Motown to Indiana with us. He and His Wife danced to Marvin, on their wedding day and She had Marvin Gaye played ,As they carried our Sweet fella out and layed him to rest . This was her song to him. Thank You for sharing this. ❤

I believe that. But, other aspects of Tammi's life would have had to change for her to reach her true potential. For1, her poor choice in the kind of men in her life. They would just take advantage of her and pull her down. She was a young girl in a grown folk world. Diana Ross was a lot more ambitious. She was not going to deal with anyone who could not help make her a shining star. She realized her woth early in life. I truly believe Tammy would have given her strong competition all things considered😏

@ Alejandro mora - a much better singer than Diana Ross! I agree. I just wish Tammi never had anything to do with that dope sniffing head singer of the Temptations. I can’t think of his name right now. He really messed his life up. I just remembered his name, “ David Ruffin” 🤮. That thug could really sing, though.
@stanchatman632
@stanchatman632 5 жыл бұрын
Diana Ross by far was the better singer over Tammi Terrell. But Tammi Terrell was by far the most likeable and gave out the best vibes over any artist at Motown at that time.
@paradiseadams6320
@paradiseadams6320 5 жыл бұрын
@ stan chatman - I disagree with your comments; Diana Ross voice was too fake, putting too much emphasis on articulations! Although she can sing, but Tammi Terrell had a more genuine voice, very natural and sexy. She had the looks to go with it. I see why Marvin Gaye would fall in love with Tammi Terrell. If Tammi hadn’t been messing around with that thug, dope head David Ruffin, she would have been so much better off. I don’t know why no good people try to worm their way in decent people lives. I believe Tammi and Marvin were soulmates, but The Lord just had other plans. 😔

On this day, March 2nd, in the year of our Lord, 2024, I am here listening to this beautiful song, and basking in the sheer magical energy that somehow floods my soul, at the sound of their angelic voices. Neither of them deserved the hell they endured in their time… The very thought of their plight is saddening. However, they left us bits and pieces of themselves, that lives on forever in our minds and hearts. May their souls rest in peace. Guys, let’s all take this as yet another lesson…that our only purpose on this earth should be loving each other, and giving the very best of ourselves always. Show love, respect and utmost kindness to ALL who enters your presence. No excuses. Ultimately…in the end when the dust settles, everything we do unto others will make its way right back into our lives. Will be returned to us, and our offspring.

There is nothing in the whole world as good as Motown.Smokey Robinson is my favorite. The Tempations and The Four Tops are so great. I'M old now for I'll be 71 this month. But I grew up in the ,60's. I graduated from High School in 1966.I can still dance and I love Motown. It was the very best, words, music, and singing.,So groovy man, so very cool.!!!!!!!

Umph, close your eyes and tell me where you are, or where this takes you. This takes me to my grandmother's house as a young boy in Gary, Indiana in the summer, waking up to the smell of her cooking breakfast and all my aunts & uncles up and moving, about to go to work and myself and my youngest uncle preparing to go outside and play all day til the streetlights come on. Priceless.

They were 2 beautiful souls inside and out. If they had been romantically linked, they would’ve been the most beautiful couple. I know they were not dating. So sad to know what happened to Tammi. So young. Cancer treatment has come a long way since we lost her. Tragically lost Marvin as well at the hands of his father. May they both continue to rest and sleep in heavenly peace! 💜💐🙏🏽
