I like how small the gun is when you have the stock in the first position. I'm happy with mine. I've not had the jam issues you see on KZbin. It takes some time to get use to the lever action. The few jams I had were user error. I did have an issue with an after market rail and scope I tried to mount myself. 30-30 is a Powerful round it shook it loose everytime. I'll take it to a gun shop and have them set one up for me.

Hey dude, I got an SPX and love it. oiled it up and worked the lever, loads like a dream no problems. my stock is made by Mossberg and not ATI like others. But I like it a lot. Highly recommend to anyone else. Don't worry about the 3 year old videos Mossberg's got it running like a dream now.

I have one of the older ones. It runs like 80% of the time. Sometimes action gets stuck when shooting it cold. It wont open the action and i have to kind of force it. Do you know the things they changed or if we can send the old ones in for a tune up??

@@apexsquad5078 Not sure if ya can send back, il call mossberg and speak to there tech. They refined the action and internals for a smoother cycle and the fore end grip also.

I gotta say, that rifle did not appeal to me the first time I saw it. However, I think it growing on me. I already have a 30 30, so I doubt I'll get another, but this one looks so ugly yet functional, I have to like it. Will it take a long eye relief scout style scope to get past that top ejection?

did you have any work done on the action prior to the video? ive been eyeing this one for a while now. every video ive seen until this one all said the same thing "the action is a little wonky and hard to manipulate" or "loading a new round can be tricky and it hangs up"

None what so ever mate, Check out my other vid of it coming straight outta the box and shooting no worrys, the older gen rifles had issues and they have been sorted out now, ive ran well over 400 rounds through it now with no issues at all mate. Highly recommend one :)

That's the BEST question ever mate, in answer to that, YES it is the ultimate pig/boar hunting rifle esp in Australia. Super light and compact, fast reloading and shooting times too, very accurate and has low recoil, its a win-win all round mate :)

Hi mate! The rifle is already drilled and tapped from factory, i brought the Weaver scope mount base "403'' to suit Mossberg 464, and it fits straight on and runs for about $20!

Hey, I just bought this gun and it came with two parts one of them was the hammer extension and the other piece I don’t know much about? Did you get the piece as well? It was a black cylinder with threads inside.

The mount is just a common one all gun shops have mate, theres heaps of red dot sights out there, this one was the smallest i could find but its now ols stock and theres none around. The light is from streamlight, best in the biz, check em out!

Hi mate thanks for subbin! Mate this is the second generation 464 SPX, they have the smaller piccatinny tri rail, first gens have the long rails on the forend and had some issues. I cant recommend this rifle enough mate as you can see from my vid!!!

a good thing to do the day you get the gun, strip it down, clean it, Mossberg uses a pile of grease you might also look at having the action polished

Random question, but in Australia let's say armed men broke in you house and you shot them would it be self defense or would they try you for murder? And can you own pistols? Or conceal carry?

Here in Australia we have strict gun laws, no semi autos, large cal pump actions or pistols. You can get a pistol but its not worth it, can only use at a club. we cant conceal carry also. All this happened in the late 1990s after the port Arthur massacre, look it up. As for our firearm storage, we must have the guns and ammo under separate lock and key, so if someone broke in, it would take you 2 mins to get sorted, and if you did kill someone you will most likely be charged with murder in most cases. Pretty fucked up aye!

I have an odd question but am in middle of a potential project and this may end up being the mule for it....any chance you could measure the action length?I.E. what the action can cycle . I am going to do a .30-30AI with hornady ftx .308ME bullets thus requiring longer OAL capability and was reading this particular action cycles longer than most but no hard numbers in that aspect. in inches a .30-30 is saami spec max @ 2.550 and that's about all a stock Marlin can handle but I would like to get around 2.710 or so ideally with minimal mods. .thx.
