Still love my 870’s but I just picked up the 590a1 spx with the LPA ghost ring sights on it and it’s a badass shotgun. Good video 👍

Nice boomstick! I got the 18.5" version of the 590A1 and it's great fun. It's pretty bare bones as it just has a bead sight and a 6 shot tube but being simple makes it quick and easy to aim and shoot. I have added the Magpul furniture as I love the ergonomics of their products. Also added their barrel clamp and sling. High vis aluminum follower and Wolff mag tube spring. 6 shot shell holder that straps to the stock. Surefire mini scout light (500 lumens). I have lots of buckshot and slugs for home defense but I also have the Winchester Defender shells which is a slug with three 00 Buck. It's zombie ready!!! 😁

Up here in Alberta Canada I bought one for $950 20 inch barrel with just a plain jane bead sight. I absolutely love it I installed a M LOK forend on it and waiting on a Magpul butt stock for it. Im happy with the bead sight don't need much with a shotgun like that. Haha

I’ve got two Mossberg 500, One I’ve had since the early 1970’s. No telling how many shell’s it’s shot. I rebuilt it last year. Looks good again ! It’s ready for another 40 to 50 years !

I recently purchased a 590A1 18.5" barrel with the ghost ring sights, I changed the stock to a Magpul stock and Forearm. I also installed a Defender Tactical kit so now it can shoot mini shells to 3" shells. I'll probably get a Crimson Trace saddle laser (green) since I have one on my Shockwave. Overall It's definetly a well built shotgun. Known to be one of the most if not the most durable shotgun made.

Most home defense situations happen within 25 feet, not 25 yards. At this distance, spread is minimal and my cheap buckshot will work fine.

Very sweet tool! I’m looking for the A1 retrograde. Seems pretty hard to find but I’m trying to be patient. I love the wood and heat shield on the retrograde model. Nice video and thank you for your service and sharing your beautiful gun.

If this is rolling around in a patrol car, id seriously recommend an Aridus Industries CROM mount. It co-witnesses a rear peep behind an RMR mount. I put a Holosun 507 on mine and use only the ring reticle. That, combined with Magpul furnature makes this gun point better than my AR for me. It looks like youre using an unnecessary seires of qd sling attachments; the magpul clip can be removed with no ill effect, but does add some swing to it. (Just some unsolicited opinions from an internet dummy who happens to have years with this set-up)

I’m picking up a 20” 590 with ghost ring sights. I opted for the regular 590 because it was lighter and I haven’t seen or heard of the polymer trigger guard failing anyone. I’ve heard one account of the metal trigger guard bending when dropped hard, but it was a guy on a forum so who knows if he was just blowing smoke.

I got a 590s last week. I really like Mossberg, just reliable, made in America and will last forever. The 590a1 seems to be a step up even from that.

Nice pickup dude, I just got the 590 9shot with optional pistol grip. Was all excited and right out of the box the action tube spring was bad, and would get stuck causing shells to fall out and not cycle properly. I worked it back and forth with some gun oil but shouldn't of had to. Called warranty they were fast, friendly and prompt to replace the spring with a longer one. Wonder if they put in the wrong spring at the factory or would could of accounted for that. Follower looks pretty scratched up to but for now not replacing that. Seems to be working ok now, I have a Mavrick 88, that is so much smoother lol. Anyway my 590 looks better, have the JIC 500 with water proof caring tube and pistol grip on the way to Cabela's. You can get a ring mount that mounts to the barrell so you can use a Surefire GX2 series without having MLOK if you have a model that didn't come out of the box with MLOCK. That is weird about that spring though, like it was a refurb or something smh

I’m trying to find out everywhere but I can’t get the answer does this exact shotgun also shoot mini shells? With out any adapter like does it already come ready to go factory or no? I’ve looked at every single video on KZbin about this gun and no one ever brought up mini shells also I am trying to buy a Mossberg 590 that does not have the ghost rings ( do I really need them) also the model that holds a lot in the tube (mini shells) and if I can throw on the stream light pump. I love that speed load stock would for sure love the link for it I will be ordering one very soon

You can get this model with out ghost rings but I like them. You can get any mossber berg in the s model and they will fit mini shells. This model doesn’t come with an adapter you’d have to buy one since it’s not the s model.

I am a left handed shooter. I don't have a gun range near me that has this specific stock on the Mossberg, but I am curious if the shell holder would hurt/cut my cheek?
