DONE! If you can put the trigger mechanism back together in less than one hour you can go into space too.

Can anybody do a video on how exactly the trigger goes in? He's just dropping it in there, but i'm having difficulty getting it to rock back and forth, and then when I do get it to and I c*** it, it doesn't go off.I mean, I don't know what's going on

You can tell it's an old vid, you called them safety glasses instead of EYE PRO. Lol. This will fit my Rossi RS22 I hope. They say it's the same as the 702. Thanks Chris amd everyone at MCARBO.

Can’t get the trigger to go back in correctly. Spent 4 hours trying. Video does not clearly show how to get the trigger back in so that it has a rocking motion. Will contact MCarbo to see if they can do it for me.

Lifesaver!! My daughters glittery pink Rossi RS22 is back to life, same builder. I took it apart since after maybe 400 rounds for a deep cleaning and had no clue how to put it back. Man these things get mucky. Thankfully I didn’t kink the spring taking it apart.

Pins drive out left to right except the trigger pin drives out right to left on the trigger assembly. There is Secret to getting the trigger back in after the sear spring and rocker bar are installed. Put the trigger in then push down on the front, toward barrel, of the rocker arm. Push the trigger forward and down. Then the holes will start to line up and you will be able to push the trigger pin in the rest of the way and everything will be captured.

I just finished my 702. My 715t has the plastic housing just like the one in the video, but my 702 is all metal. I got the 702 about 8 years ago, and the 715t about 4 years ago. If you put your bolt in the receiver first and pull it all the way back, you can put the trigger group straight on without having to come in at that hard angle and risk bending the recoil spring.

Great video. I passed twine through the trigger guard to test my pull with a fish weigher. I tried varying the angles but it made little difference in the measurement. After replacing the spring I found it to be 5 pounds. A full pound lighter. Add to that the sanding and polishing I did to the sear the gun now has an awesome trigger action. One point you missed on the video: getting the spring assy back in was a tough job, just as you said it would be. However......Getting the hammer pin in was impossible. My friend and I worked on it for over an hour. We watched and rewatched that part of your video 10 times. I had that mechanism out before when I had polished the sear and didn't have any difficulty putting it in. I was about to give up for the night when I finally saw what the problem was. The safety was on! Perhaps you might add a note to that effect to your video. Thanks.

Very, very important! Use the "screw driver trick" for the spring assembly installation. It's a huge pain! But EVEN MORE important - after you "just drop your trigger in" USE THE PUNCH to wiggle and align the trigger from the OPPOSITE side of the PIN, as he shows in the video, or you'll be there for the rest of your life. Using the punch will also let you test if you actually aligned everything by "working" the trigger. The first few tries I didn't use that method and ended up pushing the pin in just to find out that it wasn't even going thought the trigger. I'm not gonna lie - I can disassemble and reassemble my whole AR down to the last screw and pin in less time than it took me to reinstall this trigger assembly. I honestly didn't think that this would be nearly as difficult as it was.

@shmuckling
@shmuckling 4 жыл бұрын
@@jessicamartin4094 I do remember that after everything, my trigger felt soft on the reset - like it didn't want to come back forward as fast. I believe what I did was I pulled the trigger forward as much as I could from the bottom and then pressed the sear down from the top, ultimately ended up moving the arm of the spring that's on top slightly sideways - suddenly the spring snapped down into place, which I didn't even realize was out of place, because it looked like it was supposed to be where it was... if that's the issue you're having, maybe that will help. After all that, the gun works fine now, I never measured the trigger pull, to be honest.

Just did it tonight, 7/19/24. Piece of cake. Easy way to pull lower out is to punch out pins and lift out lower while pulling bolt back. Comes right out and leaves the bolt and buffer and rest of stuff in place. Install is reverse and falls right in. Video is spot on. The screwdriver trick is the ticket. Take your time and use finesse. The spring is definitely easier to squeeze together and looks thinner than stock. Haven't shot it yet to see the difference. Mine now feels like a two stage. Has a light movement to a wall and then breaks crisply. RS22 rifle.

Mossberg sure has changed the design on the plinkster. I got mine about 10 years ago and let me tell it is different. The trigger housing on mine is metal not plastic. Other than that good job doing the video also I ordered the recoil spring for my plinkster because I kinked my spring when I got it. It worked just fine if you can believe that but I figure I might as well replace it.

I'm much satisfied with the performance of my $108.00 702 Plinkster in the factory Mossberg configuration. I don't have a need or desire to put more money into it. It performs great, as-is. The trigger pull improvement I saw in this vid was very minor....especially for the price and labor involved. I have a KelTec PMR 30 on order. There is a good chance I'll be ordering some Mcarbo products for it.... the stainless feed ramp in particular and maybe the enhanced mag release. That squared-off plastic piece the factory installs in it and claims to be a feed ramp is nuts IMO.

so reducing the trigger pull on a cheap .22 semi-auto rifle will take a replacement spring and reassembling this assembly as shown? Is it really worth all that to have a reduced tension trigger pull spring ?

i followed your steps exactly.. only instead of installing a new spring kit.. i was just putting it back together.. needed to be cleaned everywhere due to long storage and mold. Anyways, when im pulling the trigger.. it doesn't rock the bar at all. and both bar and trigger are lined up perfectly. Only thing i notice is the 2 different ends of the trigger spring is "stretched" out further.. could that be it? maybe just need a new trigger spring? .

Hi Timothy, I think I'm eventually going to make a video on rebuilding or tuning up these rifles. Let me know if you would like to see something like that in the future. I would recommend eventually replacing all internal springs, buffer, firing pin and the extractor. These are the parts that are most prone to wear and will inevitably wear out after serious use. I would first start with the springs as they are more affordable to replace and most likely to wear out first. Look closely at your firing pin, extractor and buffer for any excessive wear and replace them if needed. I hope this helps.

@neuromanglers
@neuromanglers 2 жыл бұрын
Appears to me that you are skewing the trigger pull measurements by changing the angle you apply the force on the trigger. When measuring it initially, you pull straight back both times and when you measure the force after modifications, the angle is not the same and you are applying the force lower on the trigger which provides more leverage and that equates to a lower force that is required to be applied

It was a very interesting VDO. Is there any other parts that one can do to lighten the trigger pull? To me, it may not worth the time and investment, if only one pound or so is taken off. Thank you.

Jack Yang Hi Jack, thank you for leaving a comment! I know ~1.5lbs may seem like a small reduction in trigger pull weight but the combined effect of a lighter trigger pull and a smoother & cleaner hammer break is something to be appreciated. It's quite a noticeable difference in overall performance and accuracy. All products are protected by the MCARBO Lifetime Guarantee. If you don't like it, you can return it.
