I’m with you, I said I would never carry a 12 guage into the turkey woods again, but if I was this would be the gun. They sent us one for one of our veteran hunts and man I am impressed, that gun is quick and nimble and patterned out to 40 nice with just the factory choke. I had a Mossberg rep on the hunt with us and told him I would love to see that gun in a 20. I guess we will have to wait and see. Nice review man 👊🏻

I agree! If they made it in a 28 it would be the best store bought turkey gun on the market. It’s a shame there’s people that haven’t tried the 28ga for any kind of hunting. It’s the same amount of BB’s just less kick and weight. It’s the only way to go.

Just got mine! Read the specs and it checked all the boxes, short barrel, semi auto, light recoil, red dot cutout, adjustable LOP and drop so I had to try it. Just love the way it feels like a 20ga. First turkey gun with a red dot for me. You forgot to mention the improved safety, much better to operate. Can’t wait to try it on coyotes. What choke tube and load would you recommend? I ordered a Trulock Predator.

I have it with the 18.5” barrel also and love it. I would definitely buy it in a 20ga if it was offered. Only issue I have had is I went through 2 choke tubes during season. It will swell them up to the point you can barely get them out and then you can’t think about getting them back in.

What chokes & loads? I’ve shot tons through it with zero issue? Both lead and tss with tight constrictions as well

I talked to Rob Roberts and they felt like something was wrong with the barrel and told me to run by there shop one day and let them look at it and he could tell what is going on.

Shot 40 rounds thru mine using a bean bag rest and theres a few spots of wear on the paint at bottom of forearm.

I don’t work for Mossberg so I have zero clue I just hope they make it happen that was my only negative feedback at this time on the 940 is the lack of sub gauge options This 18.5 inch barrel in 28 gauge would be AMAZING !

@PAKraig we’ve patterned the .655 in the mossberg but it’s not what I planned on hunting with if you’ve watched a bunch you know what I planned on hunting with at some point before I hunted with it the .660 got swapped out and .655 in not sure if it was hawk, moose or I just got mixed up and put the wrong one in
