Do you know if this model shoots the mini shells without the aftermarket adapter piece. I do know that the 590 S are now made to shoot even the 1.75 shell without having to purchase the adapter piece, just curious.

​@@armandking621.. The Mossberg 590 comes in four different configurations including a 20-inch, 18.5-inch, 14-inch Shockwave, and 18.5-inch Shockwave. Each of these shotguns feature the redesigned components that allow the 590 to reliably cycle the increasingly popular mini shells. The standard 20-inch barrel will be able to pack a whopping 13+1 mini shells. The two 18.5-inch variants (both the shockwave and standard shotgun) will be able to load up to 9 mini shells in the tube while the 14-inch version can pack 8 total mini shells . These shotguns cycle seamlessly with a mixed loading of 1.75″, 2.75″ and 3″ shells without issue and all of the new shotguns come with the best standard 590 pump-action features you’ve come to love including a positive steel-to-steel lockup, dual extractors, twin action bars, and an anti-jam elevator for smoother operation. Nice setup…Since the heat shield is factory installed can U replace the factory forend with a forend light laser combo without it rubbing against the heat shield ???

A friend of mine purchased the shockwave fun to shoot but I'm nfs of the correct terminology but the screw that sticks out on the left side of the ejector clip walks out.

I'm undecided between the 590 JIC or the SPX for a gift. Which one would you choose? Ideally, I want the the heatshield and side saddle from the SPX on the JIC but I couldn't find the parts.

I think the SPX is a better buy. The JIC only perk is the tube. you can find nice shotgun scabbard out there. The SPX has the shield, the nice breacher heavy barrel and the ATI sadle, it's a good value if you want those options.

What’s the difference between the 590 SPX and the 590 S? Does the SPX fire the 2 3/4” and the 1 3/4” shells?

The S version will allow for mini shell, the SPX is just a tricked out 590 with normal chambering, 2,75 and 3 inch

yes those bird head grip are fun but not the best, a stock or pistol grip works better in my opinion.

How can u to own a 5+1 shotgun in Canada? I was under the impression that all shotguns had to be pinned to 3 in chamber and magazine

No that’s just a hunting law. 5+1 for semi auto shotgun and no limit (I’m aware of) for pump. My DP -12 had 16 shell capacity.

Just so you are aware, you will most likely need an extended slide release if you decide for a pistol grip and brace

I keep seeing American reviewers turning stock shockwaves into SBS and they have to go through some kind of validation process which takes time and money... so I'm surprised in Canada you don't need to. Also I'm torn between 590 spx and 590s, what do you think? 590s is newer, I think..

@@tonymediati8274 Very close, well done. It’s not the STF, but it’s the very short martial pistolete with a stock so it’s not restricted.
