A High Court judge in Auckland, has ruled money found on Head Hunters gang member, Mossy Hines, including $20k of cash hidden in his underpants and $15k in a Gucci bumbag, is “tainted property” and should be forfeited.
In the judgment dated the 8th of December 2023, Judge Johnstone confirmed that the cash will not be returned to Hines and will vest in the crown.

Mossy Hines is a patched member of the infamous Head Hunters MC and has spent most of the past 10 years in jail. He has a range of criminal convictions including possessing methamphetamine for supply.
He is the son of William “Bird” Hines, the senior Head Hunters member who died last month and was farewelled with a large gang funeral near Foxton. His uncle Dennis Hines, died of cancer in prison on June 7, 2009.
