Incredible. Unfortunately it's much too saw for most woodworkers. Still an incredible piece of engineering and prototype work!

This is one of the most interesting piece of machinery that I've ever saw. You said that it was made for small project, It would surely be interesting to see what you've made.

For what this must cost you could just buy a 10" cabinet saw. Those saws will take any blade with a 5/8" arbor including extremely thin kerf 6 1/2" blades that are commonly available in a variety of tooth configurations. With a zero clearance insert, and a low auxiliary fence you could easily cut those 1/72nd scale 2" pieces (about .028") accurately. My 10 year old Unisaw will rip wood with no more than 1-2 thousandths variation in width along the length of the piece, can handle full sheets of plywood, will cut 3" thick hardwoods with ease, and will also cut model scale materials. $300 on craigslist ..... think about it. A cabinet saw will tackle any full scale job you can scheme up. Personally I want the capacity in my table saw to build a new kitchen and not just a dollhouse kitchen. Still this is cool, but the application is just very limited.

yah, looking at the mini table saws, most dont even bevel, and the ones Ive seen so far for only a single action the price is so much that I could buy a compact regular table saw and see if I can just find one that I can use small blades on. I like the idea of micro power tools for actually doing precision high control applications with a lower powered motor, but the prices I just cannot afford as I dont make things I can charge multi 1000's $$$ for. lol I 'm looking at taking a off the shelf product and just modifying it to do what I need. Most of the time I can cut everything I need with just fine handsaws and my fancy manual picture frame miter saw that has a gliding support frame that holds the saw back, but sometimes I would just like to be able to switch on a mini circular saw and cut some pieces real quick if I have multiples.

This is specially for modellers, not for full size tablesaw , you will benefit from it if you have limited space or work on small projects
@diegopo36357 жыл бұрын
I gotta tell ya Fred, if what you say i true then you need to market that puppy. There is NOTHING on the market today that will 1) make a true, straight, and ACCURATE cut, 2) doesn't fall apart after 3 months, IF you can get one that will come on at all, 3) is designed for SMALL WORK - something MORE than 4" and no more that 10", and that a small footprint, 4) and is a PRECISION TOOL!! It's like the only choices are TOYS, or GIANT rigs for the construction site. OK, I'm done. Keep up the good work!

This incredible product video was posted way back in 2011; it's quite possible that Fred is no longer with us? If so, perhaps he is simply a brilliant designer who passed away early, and not quite so much a "twat", Paul Dixon. A couple of years ago, I found a number for him via an online search. I called, but it was disconnected.

Good luck trying to sell this thing. Looks like it would cost a few thousand to build. How do you retain all rights to it? It has features that other saws have so you won't get a patent on it.
