Depending on the type of lifestyle a person has and how much you want to spend on a home. Many people are ok with not being so close to a lot of things but if that is something important to you then this area might not suit you as much as other areas but you most likely will pay more. ⁠@@stevenvidalrealestateI love Winchester I can now walk to the new gym my dentist office and the grocery stores and the Temecula mall and old town is not that far and I could walk to the wineries if there were side walks or lake Skinner however there only a 5-10 minute drive away for me. Most people are friendly here. I have been here 14 years and don’t have solar. I had all my walls including interior insulated and whole house fans in the attic so due to my bill I don’t qualify for solar. My home is 3500 square feet and the highest bill I have ever paid was when I had my family of 15 stay here one month while I was traveling and that was $75.00 and found that they failed to turn the attic fans on. My fault I failed to explain how to use the remote. But my average bill is 40.00 a month since price increase. Yes I’m on the discount plan where Edison sometimes cuts one of my two AC units off when I’m running both during the high heat seasons. Note that it has only happened to me once since I’ve been here so the simplest solution is to only run one during that time and turn on the ceiling fans which really is all we need. I’m from Palm Springs originally so it’s cold to me in high heat and in this house with an average temperature of 75 between July and August I rarely use even one AC even when the temperature outside are over a hundred. HOA is only $120.00 a month but they don’t offer much for that. They do have regular street cleaning and most people take care of the exterior so I’m proud of my Morningside area. My gas bill runs around the same but that’s because again the house is insulated. However what is high due to my lot size is my water bill. I run my 3 fountains all day in the summer and we workout a lot so the 3 of us bath sometimes 3 times a day and have 2 large lawns and a garden to maintain on a drip system which is around $100.00 a month to $120.00 in the summer months.
