Thousands of miles, fuel, and dollars and over two and a half years of obtaining footage have resulted in never before seen perspectives of Route 66. I'm proud to show you Route 66 like it has never been seen before. From Chicago to LA, you'll get your kicks with this video from 66!
This feature is so amazing, you'll want to share it with your friends.

Came home from Vietnam Dec 1967, bought a new Corvette convertible and made this full trip on my way to Camp Pendleton . Your video brought back so many memories, some good and some sad to see the deterioration of the road and of businesses and sights along the way. You would be too young to know of it but there was a TV show of two guys working their way along and traveling Route 66 in a Corvette. Was quite a trip for this at the time 20 year old. I just relived it on your video.

This is BY FAR the BEST 66 flick I've watched. It should be preserved in the archives. My dream is to retire in 10 years and drive my restored '51 Mercury along as much of Route 66 as possible, from Chicago to LA. That dream is what get's me up in the morning to go to work. Thanks for creating and sharing this video!

Blew my mind away. When I drove through Alaska and Canada in the 1980s, I stopped frequently to take photos of old abandoned sections of the Alaska highway. I was able to drive on some sections. Your video here is first class. People who drove this road back in the day were bold, brave and adventurous.

Thanks for the memories------ My six month pregnant wife made this drive from Chicago to Camp Pendalton in May 1968 on my way to RVN. We had a son in september while I looked out at the New Jersy fire from the golf---memories and finest men I ever knew!!! We drove a 1965 MGB, green- wires and blue printed and balanced. My sweet wife sold the car before I came home, just a car, my son is fifty - he got to do Iraq. Again thanks for the vid and the tunes. Den

20 Australians did Route 66 in 2000 and we covered about 80% of the original route. This video has brought back so many memories, particularly Lucille's. The day we arrived there was no one around and we heard later that she had died that day. So on behalf of all my Aussie mates I say thanks for the memories.

I have done the whole route of Route 66 three times. Once in 1955 moving to Los Angeles from Iowa, another time with hundreds of Harley Davidson riders and a third time by car just to photography points of interests. Great video guys brings back lots of memories. Especially the ride with my late wife on the Harley Davison ride. She rode a big Harley from California to Chicago and then from Chicago to Santa Monica with the Harley-Davidson group. I am 86 years old and plan to ride it again this summer on a Ural sidecar motorcycle. Outstanding video and drone work.

this is great ! In 1964, I grabbed one of my parent's cars, a '57 Buick, and ran away, driving this road, got as far as Tucumcari, got stopped by a cop by the name of Jim Saunders, spent new years eve in jail there, my mom flew down, grabbed me by the ear, we rode back and had some constructive conversations. It was what I needed at that time of my life, you get it. I do remember a lot of these places, and yeah, that was THE road back then. The turnpike, Rt. 40 was partially built, as I recall, but I just knew about "66". Thank you much!

In 1968, during college, I made my first trip from Pittsburgh, Pa to Los Angeles. I was 23 years old and I didn't know how to read a map.(I really didn't ever have a chance to read one...I already knew my way around my town) Anyway, I decided I wanted to see California, so I jumped into my 1968 Beetle and started the trip. In those days, you could get to St. Louis pretty easily without going through small towns. But once you started westward, you found yourself going from small towns on Route 66 and back onto I 40. Your fantastic video brought back a lot of those memories, especially Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. Most travelers today will never experience a road like Route 66. I remember literally being in the middle of a small town, sitting at a red light on my way to sunny California. I remember eating at small mom and pop diners.....there will never be places like that again. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU....it was fantastic seeing your video.

Being somebody who has been only partially successfully trying to level a flower bed for the last 4 weeks I can only begin to imagine the phenomenal amount of labour it took to build or form those disused parts of Route 66. In the UK it would have been covered over and forgotten about, but a lot of 66 remains to be seen, (if not used), and especially effectively in your birds eye view. Fantastic work, well done!

U.S. Route 66 (US 66 or Route 66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. US 66 was established on November 11, 1926, with road signs erected the following year. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in the United States, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending at Santa Monica, California, covering a total of 2,448 miles (3,940 km).

The wife and I just watched the vid Rich, best we've ever seen on Route 66 and we've seen plenty. The drone shots were great and so was the soundtrack, thanks, and we subscribed so we're looking forward to more vids.

Got a laugh out of John's Modern Cabins. I've never seen this part of the country. Live in Rhode Island. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Very well done.

I had the same reaction....I'm 73... I remember traveling to California in my 68 VW in 1969.....my mom, dad and grandma were probably sick with worry while I did this adventure. Today, they're all gone...that makes me sad.

Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back. That's how he gets his 9 lives. Thanks for the great video. My uncle owned the Totem Pole Trading Post on Rt 66 outside Rolla, MO and the rental cabins across 66, circa 1949-1957. You bring back old times.

In 1961 my parents decided to take a trip from Michigan to Santa Monica to visit my sisters and check out California for jobs & housing. I begged them to let me travel with them so they arranged for getting me out of school to be their map-reading navigator. Naturally, I chose Route 66! Back then, the highway was in pretty good shape, and it ran through very interesting landscape that offered an intimate, relaxed view of genuine Americana! It was the very best of many long road trips I've taken. We moved to California the very next year!
