I put frozen blueberries into my cereal but not because I like colder cereal. I just do it because I'm too impatient to wait for them to thaw. 8:00 - the banana peels easier from the bottom. Pinch it and it splits easily and peels back, plus you have the stem as a convenient handle to hold while eating.
@FinnMcRiangabra2 жыл бұрын
That is not the bottom. The stem of a banana is on the bottom. The opposite, dark end used to have a flower on it. Banana "hands" grow upward from the stem, not down.

Exactly this. Neither method is particularly difficult but peeling from the non-stem side is objectively easier all around.

I've actually adopted the milk-before-cereal method just because it keeps the cereal fresher/crunchier when you eat it. Like, you just keep adding fresh cereal whenever you're done with the cereal you have in the bowl.
@septimor322 жыл бұрын
Well that is actually the only viable reason for doing it. Agreed!

I'm the same. I find it odd how strongly people feel against it. I've never understood why people are so much. It works for me, I am not forcing anyone to do it. Shrug
@TheJerseyNinja2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s the only reason it makes sense to do it. However I’m not gonna be sitting there re-adding more cereal to the bowl multiple times just to keep a single top layer each time. Especially since I think it’s better when the cereal has a little time to absorb a bit of milk. Still crunchy, but not dry with milk washing it down. The middle layer is the best to me. I can deal with a small amount of soggy bits at the end. I also eat really fast so I hardly ever even have any soggy cereal at the end anyway, maybe a couple pieces.
@Beunibster2 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I don't understand the upside of cereal first.
@Jaqen-HGhar2 жыл бұрын
I do that except instead of milk I use Starbucks Unsweetened Iced Coffee that is usually in the milk section in 64oz bottles. Since the cereal usually has sugar it sweetens the coffee and they go great together and I switch up the cereal based on my mood. If I'm feeling fancy I'll also get some cheesecake ice cream and throw in a tablespoon or two of that with a cereal that pairs well 🙃
@adri10c2 жыл бұрын
I love the fact that they found the “milk before cereal” food habit outrageous, because in my house we not only pour the liquid before the solid, but we pour yogurt instead of milk. If that wasn’t enough, we also snack on the top part before mixing. It’s actually better if you do it like that, in our opinion, since milk makes it soggy faster than yogurt and it just doesn’t taste right.

I am a person who ALWAYS pours the milk first, and it is the best way to eat cereal. Reasoning: The reason is that when you pour the milk after the cereal then the milk gets all up in the crevasses of the cereal, which intern makes it soggier faster, whereas if you pour the milk first then the cereal you pour on top makes a little raft for itself to sit atop, so whilst the bottom most layer is almost fully covered in milk, the majority of the cereal remains dry with floating on the raft of cereal at the bottom, so when you're ready to eat it you can just dunk it in the milk by pushing down gently with the spoon, and boom, perfectly crunchy cereal. I don't see why one would pour the cereal first as it provides no benefits in my eyes.

Yup! Milk first is the logical way, unless one wants soggy cereal. Which if someone wants, you do you, but maybe you aren't in a strong position to call others weird xD

The thing is, once I learned how bananas grow, I never know whether when people refer to the “bottom” of the banana if they’re referring to the stem side (which is the actual bottom) or the non-stem side (which most people think of as the bottom due to how they tend to be displayed in stores)
@gracetheday2 жыл бұрын
It's also confusing because the stem or bottom is like the root where it will begin to grow from. It's weird because bananas grow upward. But if you compare it to the hair on our head, the root of the hair is closest to our head, would you call that the top or the bottom? You call it the top because it's on top of our head and gravity pulls our hair down. And you call our hair ends the bottom right? If bananas did the same and grew downwards the Stemless side is actually the bottom... LOL But I guess it's relational like you said at the store maybe they are hanging from the stem. But sometimes they curve them down...
@AdamNisbett2 жыл бұрын
@@gracetheday to some extent I think a lot of the confusion is that we tend to think of bananas as an individual fruit and so expect them to just hang downward on their own. But bananas grow as part of a giant ring clustered onto a much larger stalk that does hang down. The stem of each banana is therefore only a small bit attaching each banana to the larger conglomerate fruit. In botanical definitions, the banana fruit is a ‘berry’ and each banana is just one of the small pieces that make up the larger ‘berry’
