I’m a paperback girl so I’m desperately awaiting releases in paperback form. Some that will be out in the spring are Waling Gods by Sylvain Nuevel and Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. I’m also really hoping Phillip Pullman’s The Book of Dust comes out in paperback too. X

I didn't even know Children of Blood and Bone was inspired by The Last Airbender and I picked up those vibes ❤ As someone who only watched Airbender for the first time last year (me, under a rock, yes) I was SO happy!!! Also Im reading Queens of Innis Lear right now and it definitely has GOT level intrigue by page 50. I think you're going to LOVE the three sisters Sam. I hope you enjoy all these releases, and good luck with your classes!

I am SO READY for Circe! I'm also interested in The House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson: Eastern European folklore, Baba Yaga, girl being raised to be the guide of the dead to the afterlife...I feel like you might really like it, Sam! It comes out at the beginning of April :) So many exciting fantasy releases this year! My TBR shelf may revolt LOL.

How can I not buying it. And then you introduce me toThe Children of Blood and Bone and Circe!!. And you KILLED ME with 'The queens of Innis Lear'. SHAKESPEARE!! ANYTHING RELATED TO SHAKESPEARE (plays, essays, retellings, whatever) IS A MUST FOR ME!! I cannot say no. I love your videos and your tastes...I know I am going to like it. But this LOVING IT. Great picks! Hugs

Children of Blood and Bone is my most anticipated spring release! I’m picking it up from my library today. I really want to buy it, but I hardly ever buy books (like once a year) so I don’t think I will. Idk though, the cover is gorgeous and it feels so nice to read a book that you personally own..

'You were not raised by wolves' love it! I love talking about the books I have read and try so hard not to give anything away. I was recently trying to suggest to a friend that she reads Pines by Blake Crouch but I could only tell her about the first chapter because anything else is a spoiler! Thankfully she was suitably intrigued by that so I think she will read it soon. I love your review videos because you take the time to make two versions so we get the choice to be spoiled or not.

I'm kinda bragging here but I got to see Tahereh Mafi at the Books & Books in Miami and exactly a week after (this Wednesday) I get to see Tomi Adeyemi so I'm jfjsjdjwjdjwjd about it. (She's also going to be in a signing with the author of Poet X, which is about and by a black Latina writer, so it's so exciting). Literally no one I care about ever comes to Miami and now I got two awesome author events essentially back to back. I had no idea Queens Is Innis Lear was an adult novel! I always need more adult SFF novels in my life so I'm going to snag that audiobook immediately :3

Yeah...I don't know if you saw the whole thing go down on twitter during February with that article, but somebody wrote in the comments that she was a predator. And then there was an incident with Courtney Stevens that she has written about. You can find it if you google Courtney Stevens and Tessa Gratton.

I'm not sure if you've seen the sexual harassment accusations against Tessa Gratton, author of Queens of Innis Lear. I was really excited for that book, too, but I can't get behind an author who preys on women in the community. Her victim bravely came forward, and Gratton hasn't even bothered to apologize. No way will I be reading QOIL or any other book by this author. (You can google 'Medium' and 'Court Stevens' to see the specifics).

I heard only after I posted this video. I read the Courtney Stevens article and will be paying attention to how things unfold.
