Technically, winter does not start until the solstice on December 21 and does not end until the spring equinox on March 19 so that is why I have the disclaimer. When I didn't, I had people commenting about this fact. So looks like I can't win either way :)

@@ThoughtsOnTomes you did last season and it was the first time I've ever heard about it. Guess it depends on where you're from. In our country we always used seasons by calendar (Winter being December, January and February (from first day till last) and so on).

I adored The Will and the Wilds! It gave me An Enchantment of Ravens vibes (which I also loved). You’re also right that the wildlings are very fae-like there are a lot of different varieties and cool descriptions of how they look and what their abilities are

Charlie Holmsberg gets THE best cover art - the Smoke and Summons trilogy was absolutely a cover buy and the naked hardbacks? They are SOMETHING ELSE. They're glossy and different colours and have designs on them and they feel like those books you read as a kid that were meant not to have dustjackets. Except these books do and they're just as good with or without them. I added like all of these to my TBR. Thanks Sam!

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but Shorefall has been pushed back to April 21st. 😭 Was heartbroken when I found out. New Weird has become a favorite genre of mine! I read Library at Mount Char this year and it was reading reviews for that that I first heard the term, and was finally able to put a definition to some of the books I've read in the past. Excited to read some of Jeff Vadermeer's works. Your list overall is good!

I typically love Shakespeare and retellings, so I should check out Queens of Innis Lear. Also I love the cover for Shorefall even more than foundryside. I'm excited for Hollowpox coming out in January. 3rd book in the Nevermoor middlegrade series.

Loved Holmberg's Paper Magician trilogy, but if her other books are anything like that the magic and world building will be very basic and take a backseat to the romance. The premise suggests this book will depend a bit more on worldbuilding, but one could say that about Paper Magician lol. I've been meaning to read more of her other books for years. I hope you enjoy her writing!

I know it’s not the topic of the video, but I have a tv show I want to recommend to you that I think you’d really enjoy. It’s called the Mindy Project (with Mindy Kaling from the office, but not the same character) and there’s a really really good slow burn romance (”enemies”/ frenemies to friends to ???) and there’s a lot of bantering that I think you’d really enjoy. Plus, it’s also pretty funny

Hi i am a new subscriber and fan of ur channel and i recently got into greek mythology... i work in a nursing home and weirdly one of my patients started calling me Andromeda and i thought how silly he has dementia and he says lots of things that make no sense. Until my coworker told me who Andromeda was and I was shocked because i thought it was a made up name... so i started getting into the story of hades and persephone and i just bought the book " receiver of many" because of you and i agree .too much sex!!! Like way to much... if u find a book like the perfect book of a hades and PERSEPHONE story line PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO!! @FiascosWitch Reads seems like only some of the low reviewers really read a lot of fantasy and for people that rated it higher they mention it's more of a character and worls building driven novel. I can see a book like that needing to find readers that love that kind of book because it's not for everyone.

I could be wrong, but I think she's talking about how she considers the whole of December to be winter, even though in the Northern hemisphere it doesn't "officially" start until the 21st. Same with it technically extending to the spring equinox on the 20-21 of March.

I've discussed this before at length. I no longer buy Jeffree Star products (and haven't in YEARS) but I am not going to throw out or not use the ones that I have because that doesn't undo the fact that the money is already spent. I include the name of every lipstick I wear in the description, but I am not a beauty channel and am not promoting, endorsing, or supporting his products. I also trust that the people that watch my channel can do their own research and make their own decisions on their purchases, books, beauty, or otherwise. I am not going to put a disclaimer about lipstick on my book videos where my lipstick is not actually relevant.

@@ThoughtsOnTomes unfortunately, if someone is new to your channel as I am if the product is in the decription box there is no possible way to know you don't support the brand. His name is synonymous with his beliefs. I don't personally think people should have to do research on a person to determine if they just wear and state the brand but don't buy it anymore or if they're a supporter of a known racist, misogynist, bully. 🤷‍♀️ I feel like an ass because I never comment on shit but I guess that's just life and I'd feel more like an ass to just stop watching without commenting. I hope it doesn't come across as an attack because I truly mean this as a "from a new subscriber" perspective.

Maria LeBlanc-Wiswell if his name is synonymous with his beliefs, than anyone interested in makeup would know that and won’t buy it if they don’t support those beliefs. I stand by what I said earlier. This is how I choose to handle the situation. If you would throw your products out, that’s fine and I support your decision to do that.
