if you haven't played arkham city and beyond, it's called a knockout smash. silent takedowns take fucking forever to perform, but in city, origins and knight, you can instantly cancel them by pressing the strike button to do a knockout smash. it instantly takes out the enemy currently being takedown'd, but is as loud as a regular takedown, so it'll alert enemies

there should be an Easter egg where if a criminal is alone and starring into the sky (just kine this) and you walk up next to him without any plans of attack you should be able to engage in a conversation with them. Maybe they can give you information that is a comic reference or a way to fill in some holes in the story so players understand more. Maybe the reasoning for this is because the criminal is tired and wants to leave this terrible way of living” and Batman says “the GCPD are on their way” and Batman leaves as the guy stays there. I know it sounds weird but it would give you the same open world feeling spiderman 2 succeeded in when talking to the old man and the Bird Guy. This would make the story a bit more grounded like how you can overhear NPC’s talking about their lives. Maybe you can even have an option to make a conscious choice to knock this guy unconscious because you don’t trust him.
