I see nothing wrong here. When I saw a girl get shot in the head on Gundam Wing when I was like 11 - I felt really sad about it. This I thought was bad ass. 😂

@@TH3B0N3Y4RD gundam wing was not on fox kids, it was on toonami, cable program have less restriction. for fox to be able to show one piece, they had to change the storyline and reanimated alot of the character looks, so escaflowne which was target at a older audience definitely wouldnt have lasted long.

Choosing to air Escaflowne in the first place was a mistake from Fox’s part. Aside from having to censor the violence, the entire show is laden with heavy metaphysical/mystic symbolism that requires more than one viewing and was never meant for an afterschool cartoon block. Fox’s attempt to air Escaflowne felt like going to a fancy restaurant and ordering the huge chocolate sundae in the back of the menu only for them to just serve you the cherry.

I remember this episode being the last episode that aired on fox. I was still a little kid when it came out, and to this day, I still remember those few episodes very fondly.

His swordsmanship really can't be overstated. Given how grounded this scene is, that fact that he killed like 5 dudes with death blows AND cut a snake off of Hitomi with that much precision under like 5 seconds just after getting freed is definitely crazy. This is a feat a modern anime wouldn't show you
