It's so good you are making an effort to speak Spanish. Makes the entire experience all that much more *AUTHENTIC*, does it not. I have been to Trinidad in 1983 and 2012 and I wish to return. Found the only 4LEAF CLOVER I have ever seen in my life in Trinidad when I was 18 !

Just saw this message ! Yes, I studied Spanish for over 3 years, and boy did I need it. Thanks !

What a nice beach! I don't think i'd be able to be without internet for a long time. A week or so is fine, but more than that I'd start going crazy.

Which is exactly what started happening to me, lol.

Here Be Barr ya but in Cuba is hard to find even the basic things. Mexico does not have old cars but it has things that you'll have hard time finding in Cuba. I'm mexican and just got back from Cuba after 30 days traveling in Cuba.

I'm heading to Cuba tomorrow and will be in Trinidad next week. So glad I found your video today as we planned to go to Playa Ancon but this seems like a much better choice. I've heard sand fleas and mosquitoes have been an issue at Playa Ancon early in the morning and come late afternoon. Since you stayed for the sunset did you have any problems at Playa Maria Aguilar?
@HereBeBarr7 жыл бұрын
sara superherō at ancon I got bitten by a few mosquitoes . At Maria Aguilar I brought insect repellent (bring it from home ) and had 0 problems .
@sarasuperhero7 жыл бұрын
Good to know, the insect repellent is already packed, thank you! Watched all your Cuba videos and they were super helpful.

So enjoying your Cuba series and learning a lot! How did you travel from Havana to Trinidad and if I only have four night (5 days) in Cuba is it worth the trek?
@HereBeBarr7 жыл бұрын
I took a collective taxi (4 other people) from Havana. Took like 3 hours? If i only had 4 nights in Cuba I would not make the trek, it would be to much for me. I'd rather explore the Havana area completely.
@MrCooper5177 жыл бұрын
Heading there for ten days in late February. Plan on spending 3-4 days in Trinidad. Would you recommend staying in Trinidad or at LaBoca. also, most websites say plan on $100 per day budget - did you find that true?
@HereBeBarr7 жыл бұрын
$100 a day maybe if that's including your casa particuluar (30-40$ a night max and 2 big meals out).. But i think you can get by on 50-70 easily. I would lean towards Trinidad because it has a ton to do and it's near the beaches as well if you want to escape, like 20 min away or less.

Nice Vid. How long and how much to go from Havana to this Trinidad Beach?
@HereBeBarr7 жыл бұрын
I don't know if you can take a direct colectivo/taxi to this beach. i'd stay in trinidad at least 1-2 nights. Havana to Trinidad is 4-5 hours, i think it was $25-$30 by colectivo taxi. Any casa particuluar or hotel can arrange it. From Trinidad the beach is 15 min by taxi.
@delondaC57 жыл бұрын
oh wow. I may have to pass, this time. I will only be in Cuba for 5 days, not counting 2 of those days traveling. Thanks for the fast response.

It's about 20 minutes from Trinidad which is 5 hours from Havana. It's only worth going to if you're spending time in Trinidad.

How does it feel to travel solo?? I have never done that before. I was planning a trip with my boyfriend to Cuba but his work won't let him take time off. I still want to go by myself but I'm a little scared! Is there lots to do or will I feel lonely? Hoping that it will be a safe place for a woman travelling alone... Thank you!
@HereBeBarr7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's an unsafe place to be alone. If you can make friends like I did on a walking tour , or just around the city that would be good. It depends on your personality. I'm generally social so I can make friends fairly easily. I would use some common sense precuations, don't get to drunk especially because you are a girl by yourself. But I think you'll be ookay.
@thaisamatiasdepaula85517 жыл бұрын
Thanks for such a quick reply!!! I really want to get out and break my fear of travelling alone and I think Cuba would be a nice place in the Caribbean to start since I live in such a cold place like Canada and just want to enjoy some warm weather! Haha thanks for your response and your amazing videos!!

I’m going to weigh in regarding ‘the best beach’ claim. I’ve travelled off-resort solo throughout Cuba for 15 years from one end to the other. I’ve visited most public beaches on the Caribbean side, and the North Atlantic side. I have stayed off resort for up to 6 months at a time in Vedado, Santa Clara, Trinidad, Manzanillo etc. and call Cienfuegos (my second home), because it’s so easy for Canadians to do that. Though I can’t speak to the quality of beaches on Cayo Largo and along that reach, but the best beaches are hands down in Cayo Santa Maria. No excessive coral beds, clear and turquoise and deep. I’m always sceptical when someone posts ‘the best’ of anything in Cuba. It’s impossible to know this until you have seen it all for comparative purposes. Maybe say, ‘the best beach I visited while in Cuba’. Otherwise it can be very misleading. Beaches on the Caribbean side don’t hold a candle to those on the Atlantic side.

I wouldn't spread gifts to the cuban people. I am cuban myself, born and raised in Placetas Cuba. Reason being is that Cubans will take advantage of your nice gestures. Most cubans are now very spoiled and expect gifts because of people like you. No offense...
