The glass, the bounce, the very slight expressive quackiness of strat's in-between sound. It just has so many dimensions. It has that woody, almost acoustic quality to it. I adore a stratocaster. I genuinely believe there's no other instrument that made bigger impact on the course of musical and pop culture history in 20th century than the strat. It was a game changer. It was so successful that it became synonymous with electric guitar itself. Ask any random person to draw an electric guitar and you'll get something resembling a strat more often than not.

Hi Ben, do you use the neck-middle pickup setting on your solos during gigs? If so how do you tune your amp and overdrive settings to compensate for it? I've always thought the out of phase settings to be slightly less present than the neck and bridge pickups, despite being virtually noiseless which is a perk

Hi Ted, great question. If I'm using a bit of drive on the Neck-Middle setting, I used only a small amount. In my experience, this pickup setting can lose definition quickly if you have too much drive on.

Not a bad tone, but what makes it beautiful and a piece of cake for the ear is the beautiful chord voicings and phrasings. Play that with anythung and it will still basically sounded beautiful

Hi Ben, did you remove the four middle screws from the bridge yourself? It's turned into a two point bridge and I've never seen that. I find that the tuning stability is better with a two point system, but I like the sound better with a traditional six screw bridge. I'd love to hear your thoughts about that and your own strat bridge. Thank you.

Thanks Rasmus, I removed the screws to facilitate ease of use with the Tremolo system. But I will likely replace the bridge entirely soon, since it isn't working as efficiently as it used to.

Hey Peter! I picked this guitar up in 2015 in New York, as I understand the guitar is from 1982 and much of the wear built up over time before I got it. I suspect some of the wear is real, and some of it is relic. I'd like to think I contributed to the wear a bit, though! 😄

How do you get the action on your Strat low without any buzzing anywhere? I’ve tried everything! I leveled all the high spots, crowned and polished, adjusted truss rod left and right and again, lowered saddles, raised saddles, cut nut slots perfectly. I still can’t get it low action without issues somewhere

I run into those problems as well from time to time, but I've somehow managed to get the string height just right so that I have very few problems these days...I completely understand what you're talking about though! 😃

@@beneunson each guitar is a mystery. It’s such a precise system. Even harder if the bones of the guitar are not properly measured from factory. I guess you really do get what you pay for. Unfortunately all I could afford was a cheap used 90’s Squier Bullet Strat. No wonder I’m having so many issues

Back in my day, the Strat had a three way switch, then they changed to a five way switch, I absolutely hate that horrible thin tone position two and four give, my advise is, change your five-way switch back to a three-way switch, then it will sound as Leo meant it to sound.
